Draft Profile Jake Stringer

Selwood slipped down the pecking order due to his injury and was pounced on by Geelong, so I can't see any reason why a club wouldn't take him. They will do due diligence and make sure that the leg has healed properly though.
Wasn't Beau Muston a young gun and a tall mid before leg injuries ruined him?

Don't know if we would take the risk if we keep our first pick. Injuries would have played a part in Carlton and other clubs passing on Mitchell who had some big injuries as a junior.

Leg breaks/ impact injuries are not the same as shoulder and knee reconstructions which have a much higher chance of re occurring.

With picks 5 and 6, if 1 of Toumpas or Mayes isn't available I'll be pretty shattered if we didn't take Stringer.

We'll see. Jesse Smith and Nathan Brown didn't get back to their best after bad impact and leg/ankle injuries. It took Mclean a couple of years to get back in the groove after he stuffed his ankle.

It's easy to argue either way.

Nathan Brown was a very severe break. Injury to joints like ankle, knee and shoulder are in an entirely different ball park due to the soft tissue and cartilage involved.

Chris Newman played his best footy after he broke his leg. Jack Ziebell has broken his leg twice and it didn't take long for Barlow to start playing good footy again.

Clubs will have to be right on their games when they perform there medicals at draft camp.

I won't be disappointed if we use our first rounder on him.

Really hard to pick this kid , I love the size and agression for a midfielder and is a great foward that can rotate with Cotchin,Martin & Lids.

If he is there at pick 11 , I would grab him

Second, I saw him play for Bendigo today; when he tackled it certainly stuck and he was up against Senior VFL players & didn't look out of place

Better then what most people are saying, I didn't see any limping when he was on the field or interchange
The guy was almost going to be grabbed by Gold Coast before he broke his leg over Jaeger O'Meara
It's going to be interesting to see where he goes.

Dogs would have to be favorites you'd think.

Well someone said, GWS might go for him with the picks they'd get for teams from the mini draft
so he might go as early as the third pick, especially so if GWS don't want to pick up Brodie Grundy and target a more experienced ruckman instead

I get a feeling this guy could end up biting who ever passes on him !
I'm looking forward to the looks around the player selection tables at draft time if he does slip past top 10. Might be some anxious 'What the hell do we do now?' or 'Someone call the boss' comments amongst the selectors as the pick go by.....
