the way i look at it, he's not a better attacking player than Adkins or Chambers, yet not better defensively than Wooden, so how does he get picked...it's not like his Wafl form has been awesome...anyway, footygoss just updated there story, McIntosh wasn't dropped he has sore knees, could it be a cover up?

Just curious as to what role Munro is in for. Bias aside i would EASILY have picked Adkins or even wooden before munro, wooden can play defense, tagger or midfield, chipper midfielder or forward, both i believe are better at these positions than Munro so if it is defense then wooden is better pick, forward adkins is and midfield both are better, so whats munro's role? bench warmer?

Not an overly tall Richmond forward line this week apart from Richardson & Vardy, so dropping a tall defender makes sense. Pleasantly surprised Woosha has kept Glass in the side - Would love to see him do well on Richardson.

I'm a little worried actually- both from what this will mean for our team balance, but more significantly our chemistry.

Despite his complete inability to get a touch, we're sticking with Haynes at FF. I don't think we'll ever see Wilson play AFL footy again- he was dropped for a couple of poor games. Haynes has had three shockers in three weeks, and his place is still safe, despite Wilson doing everything humanly possible at WAFL level to get into the team. If this is the way the club wants to go, they might as well just tell Wilson to stop coming to training, because he's wasting his time. If he doesn't play this weekend, or next weekend outside, he never will.

Forgetting anything about fairness, liking Wilson as a player, and wanting to see players rewarded for hard work at WAFL level, we're playing with fire with our current forward structure- we were very very close to throwing it away against Collingwood due to our lack of forward structure- sooner or later a team is going to break even with our midfield, and if that happens this week don't expect us to win. In a straight shootout, who has the advantage? Richardson v Carroll, or Haynes v Gaspar?! Every week we use this forward structure, we're gambling on our midfield being so much better than the opposition that it doesn't matter about our complete lack of focal point up forward.

As with Haynes, Munro seems to be a bit of a coach's lovechild. He's had more opportunities than a lot of people thus far, and really hasn't put any runs on the board. How he got a game ahead of the unrelentingly good form of Wooden, Chambers and Collica is beyond me.

Even if we do have some wacky gameplan which requires these players, I'm more worried about burnout- one of the reasons we've been good thus far despite injuries, is that we've always had someone tearing it up in the WAFL, desperate to get a place. If it appears that no matter how hard some people work, they won't get an opportunity, our attitude and team chemistry are going to suffer down the track.

Ah well, in woosha I trust.

To be fair to Whoosha...I dont really blame him. Cousins (looks to be almost back to his best) Judd, Kerr, Fletcher, Wirrpunda, Braun, Banfield, Morrison, Jones, Embley....why wouldnt you assume that we will win in the midfield?

But I do agree as to why Haynes is still in the side. With Jako down back because of Milli's sore knees, it leaves without a tall forward to speak of. I thought it would have been a perfect opportunity to bring Wilson in.

As for Munro?? Well im completely lost for words....how he got a game before a host of others is beyond me.

Still......In Whoosha I Trust.

I'll back Woosha. 2nd on the ladder with a 6/2 after 5 away games is brilliant.

I think Munro has showed heaps in midfield and attack in the limited time he has had on the field. Defensively he is not strong enough.
I think Haynes has been great all season. 3 shockers is just plainly wrong. It's a team game and Haynes work for others is outstanding and is a big part of our success.

Yes I would prefer Gaspar in but giving his hammy an extra weeks rest is wise. Wilson, NO, we become one dimensional and Fido and Sampi suffer, the opposition also rebounds easily and Wilson has little defensive ability.
I'm a Wooden and Chambers liker and I'm sure they will get their chance at the business end of the season. we need 6 more wins to make the finals and have 8 home games left. I'd love to go into the last quarter of the season and finals with a fit and relatively injury free side rather than play our best 22 all season and get to the finals with half of them carrying injuries.

Woosha gets my support 100%

Well Im not happy that Wilson isnt in the team but I guess woosha must have his reasons. I can understand why Milli has been dropped and its good to see Jako and Munro back in the side? What do Collica and Porno have to do to get a game? Have they both slept with woosha's wife or something?

hmmm. I'm not as worried about our forward line with a decent target at CHF.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I just think we need one marking target at forward, although, having said that, will Jako play forward? I do think that Haynes has not been working at FF for at least a few weeks, lets hope this week it does.

What I am worried about is that, IMO, our best three hard/run with players, Chick, Read and Wooden are not in the side. I'm not doubting the ability of our defenders to win their contests, but are we planning to tag any of their onballers? And if we are, who with?

Morrison was absolutely schlacked last week by Buckley, and his best game of the year was against Robertson (down back). Braun and Banfield are the other two who stand out, both of whom though have not spent any great deal of time in the middle this season.

all the talk from Richmond has been about slowing this game down, yet by the looks of our midfield, we have the opposite in mind, should make for an interesting battle of wills.

just in case you are sceptical about Munro's inclusion, here are a list of players not in this week's team ....

Wooden, Adkins, Chambers, Chick, Collica, Wooden, Gaspar, Lynch, McDougall, Wooden, Read, Seaby, Wilson and Wooden.

rant over

Why is everyone **** bagging Haynes?? He did nothing against Collingwood, but the week before he took 7 marks.

He's taken 6 marks in a game 4 times this season, which isn't a bad effort.

I still don't think he is our best option for a permenant full forward, but at the moment, we're leading the pointscoring so why change it around??

Good to see Munro getting another go but I would've thought there was a heap of others who should've got a gig first, atlhough I do like the look of Munro - he just has to find his feet.

I think its good to give Milli a rest. He copped a towelling from Rocca fair and square. Rocca kicked 4.2 and had another couple of chances to kick goals, took 5 marks, and was their best threat up forward all day - much more than Tarrant, who I thought played OK but nothing special.

And with a matchup possibly on Lloyd coming up, its good to keep Milli fresh.

Just a few things to think about RE: Haynes, and although I dont like using stats to say things in footy, I think it just gives a bit of food for though.

Marks:
Rocca - 43
Haynes - 40

6 or more marks a game:
Rocca - 2
Haynes - 4

Goals:
Rocca - 19.11
Haynes - 11.8

Touches:
Rocca - 91
Haynes - 80

He's really not doing that badly cause Anthony Rocca is a pretty fair player, despite the fact we all like to hate him.

For a guy who shouldn't really be playing at FF, he's done a top job.

He doesnt deserve to be dropped, Id prefer to see him in a HFF position. I think Willow is a better FF for us, but woosha has to have a good reason to not play Willow so i'll accept it!

I think Haynes is doing a good job and shouldnt be dropped. But I also think Wilson should be given another shot. Just stick Haynes on a HFF.

All season we have had at least one tall marking player up forward, Wilson was there in the first two weeks and Gaspar has played CHF. Then Jakovich has come in and pinch hit up forward, but this week we are going in without a real tall forward. A worry.

I have heard that Richmond have gone with a relatively small forward line so perhaps one of Carroll or Jakovich will move forward??
