I got suspended for simply telling a bloke who said we were gifted a soft draw that they in fact were the team which had the soft draw. Immediate suspension. When I look at some of the personal abuse and crap which goes through without consequence, I shake my head.
No point trying to reason with someone misguided enough to follow the Blues. Just leave them be.

The throttle cable snapped Friday judging by my posting. Stupid beers being spiked with alcohol. Lucky I had a spare and fitted it Saturday morning before any further engine damage was done

I see you more as an onion, just layer after layer revealed.

How in the **** could anyone suggest we've got a soft draw? By Saturday night we will have played 8 games, against 7 of last year's Top 8, with Essendon the only non-finalist from 2024 we've played, and they still finished last year with a .500 record.

Carlton must be mad we avoided a tough draw that involves playing Richmond...

Fox footy 2025 draw rating:
Carlton:
Fixture difficulty (based on double-ups): 3rd-easiest

Grade: A+

Coll:
Fixture difficulty (based on double-ups): 3rd-hardest

Grade: B-

Remembering one of us played finals last year…

They're a very touchy bunch over on the scum board.
I guess it must come from being a bunch of losers for 30 years and living on past glories.
I know full well who that famous mod is. She likes to dish it out but doesn't like it when anyone says anything negative about Carlton. I just keep away these days. Plenty of decent Carlton supporters on other BF forums and fantasy leagues

Surely that's an oxymoron.

We like to win the hard way, its what we do.
It doesn't really matter - we have to beat all of these f**kers anyway.
The scum's true colours were shown in the way they played the elimination final.

They said tonight on Fox that ours has been the 14th easiest meaning one of the toughest with easiest being Suns.

It will be interesting to see if they extend him. He's arguably got the hardest position to crack through into the senior side. Behind the likes of Maynard, Quaynor, Jaicos, Houston, Perryman, Howe, and now Parker

After a few years of development and now what appears to be strong VFL form, it would be a waste not to sign him up for another year.

Extend him for a year once Howie retires and hopefully he should have a lot more skills under his belt by then

Move someone into the midfield

Move someone into the midfield
Or a bit like when they made the decision to delist Cox to open the door for Oscar, they could to the same with Ryan. When Howe retires, can say. Here mate, here is an opening for you.

Haven’t thought about him for a while, in what role would he play/whose spot would he take?
He'd slot into our defence pretty easily I think. Zones off well. Solid in the air and can play on a range of opponents. But with Bruzzy, IQ and Perryman we've got 3 better already. It'd take injuries or a role shift for one of them for him to get a good run at it.

Vankri if we do want to move Perryman, he's your man more than Parker is

That’s the issue and a little bit frustrating in that he’s in the ONE position we aren’t lacking in.

Other clubs may look at him if he continues his form

I don’t mind Ryan, will not make a huge difference in offence but he can play a role. Parker’s disposal is dodgy but he is a good ground ball player and he does like a run forward. Horses for courses but against some teams I feel like that’s more important than others and depends on how much of a lock down role we’re asking of Bruz and IQ because otherwise they can play that role better.

Funnily enough yesterday was the worst I’ve seen Pez play so if for whatever reason he was sent out in the middle on an off night he would have probably lost his chance to show what he can do there. Without Nick, with the past 10m version of Long and 2026 De Goey it was a hopeless battle anyway.

I’ve seen enough though to say we need change. Lipinski can’t play inside. Crisp was terrible. Sidey can’t sustain his performances week to week. Jordy’s lost something. Long is too one dimensional. I like Pez as defensive mid but if we’re unsure then first send Pendles back there to steady that trainwreck, bring Anderson because we need a circuit breaker in the inside and give Pez some tagging time so we don’t end up losing the game because of repeat i50s conceded. What we’re doing currently isn’t working and it’s hard to see us win the basics of the game in the middle.

It’s not like the club didn’t know either. Rowell, Oliver and Simpkin were all identified as targets and it made sense (I really wanted LDU back when he was out of contract). Problem now is our best young talent can’t play that role except if Anderson comes out of nowhere (our top young talent is forward of the ball or in defence, no top level inside mids), and right now there’s not an obvious FA/UFA that would come to us. We’ll have to wait it out.

I would have loved to see what a combo of Nick + inside king (Rowell) + Pez (defensive mid cover) with Steele and Josh/Lip on the wings would have looked like. Beau, Shoota, Elliott as stints.

Midfield below Nick is bad. But, I'm not as worried about the defensive mid as you are. Dunkley is great because he's playing alongside star mids. Put him in Carlton and he'd just be another butcher. Get Bailey. Him alongside Nick and then Long, Anderson, Perryman or whoever we play in the role suddenly looks a whole lot better. Our issue is Jordy has lost his agility and has become a witches hat around stoppage. You need 3 good attacking mids and a defensive one - we've got 1.
