Its uneven and got glaring holes in several areas, esp the midfield and an aging and injury prone backline.

And then there is question marks about Bevo and if he has lost the players ?
The backline has plenty of young talent. O'Donnell looks like a gem, Busslinger is coming through, just recruited Croft to play backline ... Darcy is a capable defender as well

That's just the tall timber. There are medium defenders and runners too.

Forward line is stacked

It's literally only the midfield and there's young talent there with more not far away by draft (father sons)

Worry about Carlton

I do agree somewhat, was Macrae injured last year or has he fallen off a cliff?

Wasn't haven't a pop at the Dogs, just addressing some concerns I saw last season.

The Bevo coaching issue seems to be the elephant in the room that won't go anytime soon for the Dogs. Suspect many in the media are gunning for him next year.

There's been a complete coaching shake up....

The only two people in the media that will be gunning for Bevo will be Cornes and Barrett but that shouldn’t surprise anyone

Had a poor year but played out of position by crazy bevo. Prob needs to drop a few kgs to get around the ground better now he's a little older. Been training like a man on a mission by all reports

I’d take Naughton in a heartbeat. Absolute gun
Last 3 seasons Naughton avg 11 disposals, 4 marks & 1.9 goals a game.. JUH in his break out year already more disposals, more marks and 1.5 goals a game.. Stats have their limitation but if your comparing the two players and who I would take if I could only have 1 and it’s an easy decision in my book..

Naughton has the potential to be an elite defender, would be talked amongst the same group as Moore and Weitering but is only ever going to be an average forward.. Bevos arrogance at refusing to concede this will be his undoing, especially when you have Lobb, JUH & Darcy waiting in the wings, and the sides biggest weakness is key defence.

Who cares about disposal averages for a key forward? They’re not particularly relevant.

He’s also kicked 40+ goals in each of those three seasons. Why not include that statistic?

How many other key forwards have done that?

Naughton may be better off behind the ball, but let’s not pretend he’s not a quality forward. He very clearly is.

The bulldogs would be a better side with him behind the ball

The 1.9 goals a game I thought covered that off, regardless 40 goals a season is a long way from elite, I did a quick count and in past 3 season 38 players have scored 40 goals or more in a single season, including A graders like Mabior Chol, Tyson Stengel, Todd Marshall, Oli Henry, Jake Stringer etc
