I honestly think they will let him walk unless it is a genuinely "fair" trade this time.

Like you I am sure a trade will get done, but the Lions are setting this up to be "fairer" than you'd expect in a situation like this.

At some point it isn't about Aish, but about the next three Aishes. At some point you wear the short term hit for the long term.
No way they will let him walk, surely. I dont understand why they wont trade him.

We will let him walk, simply speaking we just cannot keep letting players come up here for a vacation then leave.

We have to put our foot down at some time, if the AFL doesn't want to help - we'll do it ourselves.

I'm too scared too post.....
Depends if you guys organise mass trolling raids from the Collingwood board again. For all the conspiracy theories and martyr stories you guys spin over there, the mods give people a good run here as long as they realise it isn't Bay13.

The same way you guys couldn't understand we were only offering pick 5 for Beams? Do we really have to act surprised and feign outrage each time a team goes through the usual ambit claims in trade negotiations?

Will be a much smoother trade period this year for both supporter bases if we just accept that both teams will play the game.

How exactly does it help prevent the next 3 Aish's?

The only thing it could do is deter kids from even wanting to be drafted to Brisbane. You'll have more kids saying don't even bother drafting me.

Once they get to Brisbane if they want to go then they'll go won't they?

To stop players going you need to find good players and win games and build a strong program. If you turn down a pick in the low 20's then that doesn't help do that, especially when you could use that pick to get an academy player.

This is terrible! How can a player just do two years of a contract and then just say shove it and walk out? There should be laws against this.

Or is it only terrible when Collingwood are on the receiving end?

Just lol @ collingwood supporters thinking pick 24 + some spud will get the deal done. First rounder + a ready made untouchable player or carlton it is
What makes you think Aish is worth a first rounder and a quality player?

Be realistic, otherwise you'll just end up being bitterly dissapointed.
