I seriously doubt Collingwood are going to give him the 400k we offered him. Hope he enjoys 250k a year in the VFL.
Plenty of room in the cap! Why would he choose to be traded to Pies? No doubt terms & $ would have already gave been put to Aish by Pies several weeks ago.:)

And didn't we dodge a bullet with that pea hearted woman beater.
Yep.

Port won a flag straight afterwards, Collingwood won a flag with Didak, the player Port wanted in the trade, playing a major role and Carlton.... had twice as many wooden spoons as finals games with Nick Stevens in the side.

I don't get Brisbane's stance on this. If he's uncontracted than he can request a trade.
He has requested a trade. Note the use of the word "request". The request does not have to be fulfilled by Brisbane. Either a trade deal is done between Brisbane and Collingwood or Aish takes his chances in the draft.

If we manage to get Treloar and Aish I will be one happy Pie supporter, makes losing Freeman and possibly Kennedy more bearable.

Letting Aish go to the PSD will only set the Lions back further, yeah it looks tough but sometimes you have to shove your pride and do what's best for the club. Which I think they will even if he doesn't end up a Magpie they will get something for him.

Was being facetious about the general outrage from Collingwood when one of their players is poached but they're quite happy to do the same to other clubs.
Ah gotch ya, I don't see the fuss to be honest it's like some people think these players are cattle.

If you or I are unhappy at work and another company comes and says hey come work for me we would be out the door and wouldn't look back.

Gonna be interesting to hear Lions and Pies fans trying to convince themselves that Leigh Matthews' guarantee, now officially backed by Swann, wasn't in fact a Leigh Matthews Guarantee.

James Aish is as of now in one of the Drafts.

Guaranteed.

Everyone gets upset when young players leave. Id be more upset if our club let him walk into the psd for nothing

Spin it how you want, there was Collingwood ferals on your board wishing career ending injuries on him. The same ferals will probably be describing this as 'karma' for Freeman walking out, that a higher rated junior is walking in.

Also, Aish has put Brisbane into a weak position yet again.
I was one of those ferals, and retracted my statement after my initial dissapointment.

I'm not sure about the whole karma thing. Maybe you should look up the definition of karma before using it next time. I would say it's more a fortunate turn of events for us, given we were heavily in to Aish in his draft year.

Deal will get down. Depending what the Treloar deal ends up requiring it will be what we get back for Freeman, plus our 2nd rounder (so two picks in top 25) or a player like Oxley.

These 1-2 year players walking out on clubs and "nominating" a club of choice seriously needs to stop.
Yeah, the best outcome from this for Brisbane will probably be the AFL finally doing something about what is essentially becoming second year rookie free agency.

Whether it is longer initial contracts, team options or something else, something will have to be done. The draft is beginning to fail as a key plank of equalisation. The exodus at GWS will have them seriously worried too.

Leigh Matthews is a silly old fart who doesn't know how to run a club at board level. I think they'll do a crawl down.

Fair enough. Was equating the type of Collingwood supporter who would wish injuries on someone as the type who would not understand the concept of karma. It's an abused concept these days.

What I dont get is why not go HOME if you're not happy? Whats the hard on about going to Collingwood? Does he think he'll be ahead of the likes of Crisp, Adam, Pendles, Treloar etc?
Buckley was a childhood idol, his best mate is playing there, and they have a very promising young list, in addition to being located in the heartland of the AFL.

There will be room for him in the 22, particularly with Freeman going to St Kilda.

He adds something different I guess, good disposal. Although I saw none of that this season.
