As I've said previously in this thread, my mail a few months ago was that he wants to live in Melbourne much more than any of the other capital cities and the fact that he has been closely linked to only Melb teams of late would probably be a sign that that mail was correct.
Not keen on living in Brisbane though and I have no doubt that other clubs would be offering him an equivalent deal, if not better.
I think it's just that he isn't any club's no.1 trade target and as such he has to wait and see how those clubs go with their no.1 targets (eg. Collingwood and Richmond with Treloar, us and Carlton with Carlisle), which they will need to sort out before they know how hard to go for Aish.

Once that's all sorted, I expect him to tel Brisbane he's out, unless he gets a bit affronted that he isn't anyone's no.1 target and says "stuff them, I'm staying", in spite of not liking living in Brisbane!
We will see I think it out of pies, Hawks and crows, Hawks and crows being the favourites as to why he hasn't announced anything yet whilst they still playing

Has Seedsman and a 2nd round dropped off the map?
It's gone quiet since it was reported that the Crows and Roos are interested and may give up a second rounder for him. Brisbane are still being reported as interested in him though and you would think if he goes there it would be part of the Aish deal.

You have got to be F#$KIN kidding! Aish ain't anything special from what he's shown so far! Frost, Fasolo, and especially Langdon are each worth considerably more to Collingwood than Aish. Then you want to throw in our second rounder as well. o_O
Frost is nothing special, I would easily give him up for Aish, Aish will be a quality player don't worry about that.
Fasolo and Langdon I put in there at a stretch, both are solid players, but if we're really keen on Aish and Brisbane demand one of them I can see it happening. As I mentioned earlier Langdon is surplus to our requirements if we have Scharenberg and Marsh (both better players IMO) and Oxley (probably about on par with Langdon) all playing a similar roll. Aish hasn't requested a trade to us so if we want him we will have to give up something semi-decent.

I hope you don't work at the club in any capacity, especially any role involved with trades!

This is a really strange trade/non-trade.

He attends Brisbanes BnF. Yep, if he was coming to us I'd hope our club told him to attend and show respect.

But to turn up for exit interviews and obtain your off season program, yet leave you large contract extension unsigned.......puzzling.

Only way I see that he'd be coming to us, is if we've told him to keep it quiet until we get the AT deal sorted. Not sure a prospective player would be overly thrilled with being told that.

I'd have to think it's more likely he's staying or headed to a team still involved in the finals or the Crows.

Think you'll get Freeman from us and we will land Aish. Hawks lurking but would be hard to crack into that team. Ask pick #2 Jono O'Rourke.

Starting 22 on a wing for Pies from day 1.

Crows also an option but he's on record as saying he wants to play in Melbourne and not go back to Adelaide. May change his mind though if they throw him some of Dangers money.
O'Rourke will be given time.
As Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell slowly retire, ORourke & Aish would slide in alongside Shiels, Smith, Hill, Hartung & Langford.
Hawks will be looking for a class clearance mid to replace Mitchell. Not convinced Aish wouldn't make his way in late next and cement a spot by years end. They don't rush things at the Hawks. Hartung was given time, as were Langford and Hill.

Why do people find this puzzling? Aish and his manager are testing the market for opportunities that will be greater than the reported 3 year $1.2 million offer that Brisbane have tabled to Aish. As I've said a couple of times now, Duston Martin did exactly the same thing, only finally re-signing with Richmond at the end of September, when the season was over. It's mid September now. That doesn't mean Aish will necessarily re-sign with the Lions, but he is clearly looking around.

Aish definitely has said "I want to make a name for myself outside of Adelaide" or something similar in the past

Can't remember where it was but Tails isn't making it up
Yes, he did say that (those exact words I think) - pretty sure it was on draft night. He did not and has not said I want to play in Victoria/Melbourne/Collingwood. He hasn't said anything. So to say he has stated he only wants to play in Melbourne is simply plucking the words out of your arse.

Because he's been shopping himself around since pre-season. He initially said he wanted to wait until the end of pre-season....Nothing. End of year nothing. Surely he'd have made up his mind by now. Martin did what he did purely for more money from Richmond. If the Brisbane listed offer is true, I'd be very surprised that he'd get more than that elsewhere.

I'd agree with that. The only thing to make of the situation as it stands is that he has either decided on a team that hadn't finished as at the start of the weekend or he is still genuinely undecided as to what he is doing. You would think if he has decided to either stay at Brisbane or move to one of his suitors who have finished we would have heard by now. Given that he hasn't burned his bridges at Brisbane by going to the BnF and attending exit interview without giving any indication he is leaving, suggests it is the second option. Whether that is because he is waiting on one or more of his suitors to finish their season (remember he has been linked to both the Crows and Hawks) before deciding, or he is as you said 'testing' the market or both we will have to wait and see.

Like most, at this point, you kind of just wish he'd make a decision and let everyone know so everyone can get on with things ala Treloar and Dixon who having nominated their club of choice, have given both his departure club and his destination club the opportunity to start working out their trades, so that they will have time during the trade period to look at other player movements occurring at their respective clubs. I'm sure it doesn't help Brisbane not knowing what Aish is doing because they can't plan their trade period or fully assess what they need out of it while they don't know if they are seeking a trade for Aish or if he is apart of their 2016 list.

I'd be very disappointed if we offered him much more than Scharenberg has signed for (whatever that is). Scharenberg has shown club loyalty by re-signing with us for three more years, and Aish is more or less at the same stage of his career as Scharenberg (hard to assess given injuries of both, maybe Aish slightly ahead as his injuries were not as serious).

Thats an understatement. Aish played almost every game his first season and would have played more this season if he didnt break his finger. "slightly" ahead of a guy who didnt have a chance to play until he recovered from an ACL is stretching it.

Isn't that what he and his manager are trying to find out?

Many clubs aren't in a position to make firm offers at the moment. For example Adelaide have been waiting on Dangerfields's decision. Now that he appears to have made a decision, Adelaide may look at their freed-up salary cap amount and decide to make Aish an offer that trumps Brisbane's. Brisbane may make a counter-offer. Either way Aish gets an better contract than the one currently on the table.

Would you not say that Marsh, Scharenberg, Langdon and Oxley all play a similar roll? If we were to lose any one of them its not as big a loss as losing a KPF or line breaking mid as we are short on them. its not difficult to understand…

For what its worth I rate Scharenberg and Marsh as clearly better players then Langdon and Oxley, and rate Langdon just above Oxley.

Langdon is a good solid player but has clear deficiencies, I wouldn't want to lose him but he is replaceable and I have no doubt that Aish will end up the better player.

SEN reporting that Aish has requested a trade and nominated Collingwood
Finally want this saga to end - as it is/was getting a joke.

If this is true then Coll will need to satisfy GWS (AT) before we can discuss the compensation with Aish.
Options I see.
- 2016 1st Rd pick (probably going to GWS)
- 2 X 2015 second round picks (hopefully early/mid picks) - MOST LIKELY
- 2nd round pick and player.

Personally would go with the 2 second rounders, which along with the early second rounder we should get for L'Berger, it will enable us to easily acquire our Academy kids and more than likely T Bell.

Is there any other teams?
I wonder if there has been some manoeuvring over the weekend with other clubs involving Freeman, Seedsman, Witts etc that now means we could probably satisfy Brisbane with the required picks.

This probably held Aish up in revealing his preference. No point going early if the club you want to go to can't come up with the required trade.

What other teams?
Langdon is our next captain IMO. Absolute class on field and eloquent off it. He's the kind of player you can build a culture around. Only a Godfather offer would see him traded out surely!
Not sure if serious??? We got a few candidates already and Langdon is not high in the picking order. Potential leadership group most likely.
