Theres been some big shocks in recent times. Tippett and Buddy to Sydney, Mitch Clark to Melbourne, Griffen to GWS to name a few. Even most Vic journos had Eddie going to North until late on.

The reality is that footy clubs handle things things alot different to their Rugby and American sport counterparts. I mean there's some obvious moves of course.

How'd it all turn out for Chris Judd?

WOW - you have highlighted one player. Footy has been going for 100 year x 22 players x how many different clubs.

What about Alistair Lynch? or Darren Jarman? or Bryon Pickett? Or Jack Gunstan? or the hundreds and hundreds of players who have had the courage to go to a club looking at rebuilding and ending with a premiertship?

And more who have failed ;)

But on Alistair Lynch, wasn't he one of the 8 Roys players selected by Brisbane post merger, i know it's a bit of a schematics argument but still i wouldn't say that was courage to look for greener pastures... it more just fell into his lap.

star player in his prime moving to carlton who have been stocking up on high picks and poised to make a run at the flag?

forgive me for seeing the similarities ;)

of course a number have failed, thats risk you take. Aish coming to anywhere, is not going bto guarantee winning a flag.

no, he went on ten year deal, back in something like 1994. Well before the merge deal.

Correct IIRC he was offered a 10 year contract too.

Thats kinda my point. The fact that we are so quiet with him makes you kinds think he is coming here. The story in the public of us not been into him and him wanting to go to Victoria is 180 degrees from what should be happening.

Remember, under Fagan the Crows are water tight. We didn't know about PW until practically the night before he was appointed.

We could have a fanfare and knighting ceremony and we wouldn't know.

I'm not particularly surprised we haven't heard anything.

Our interest in him was all over the Victorian press from very early in the year. Our pursuit was not secret
I can't find anything mentioning us before August? Have you got any articles?

Don't crucify me, but I wouldn't be too upset if getting Aish means loosing Danger. I would need something else to be included as well. No one for one swap.

I am in the same boat right now. While I love Danger and want to keep him, if we lose him and use the FA pick to land Aish I would be more than satisfied.

Yeah, if losing Danger became Scharenberg and Aish (plus a free agent spend), that wouldn't be terrible.

I wouldn't. I want both. We're still down Tippett, Gunston, Davis, Vince and a couple of first round draft picks.

Also, we're talking about a top five AFL midfielder versus a young man who hasn't established himself in the competition yet.

Would be great to get Aish, but would still be a huge blow to lose Dangerfield.

People have become complacent about what Dangerfield does for our side. He'd leave a huge hole.

Absolutely I want both, and I am still firmly in the camp that Danger will re-sign with us. But in the event that he does go, only getting Aish would lessen the bitter taste it would leave.

One thing we know for sure

Aish is managed by Pickering
Pickering is all about the $$$
Aish will go to the highest price
Don't believe a word from Pickering

What Pickering thinks or wants is irrelevant, Aish is the one who ultimately will make the decision as to where he wants to go.

Pickering's job will be to get a deal done with the club that Aish wants to go to.
