Aish doesn't know what he wants to do, doesn't even know where he wants to play. Heads off to Bali tomorrow and all he has is Brisbanes preseason training plan. Seems to me he's not entirely serious about his footy and therefore I'm not sure he's right for us.

So a player is taking a holiday in his... holidays.

Which makes him not entirely serious about this footy; huh?

Aish + Redden = Dangerfield? (If we can pull that off we wouldn't be too weakened, if at all IMHO)

In my view, the only way we can come out even in this trade period is by landing Bennell amongst one or two others (eg. Aish/Menzel/Hampton).

Bennell's the only one who can come anywhere near approaching Danger's output.

Getting the ins of Bennell Aish Menzel and Hampton for the outs of Danger would be akin to being down at 3/4qtr time by 5 goals and winning by a point.

Actually, no I don't know him, but I know someone that does.
I know him. He's a pro. Quality character. Would be a good pick up. Quiet natured though which can give the impression of being aloof to people who don't know him.

He honestly doesn't know what he wants or where he wants to play footy. To me that's a concern. Patty, for example, knows exactly where he wants to play. How do you get to an end of a season and do that? He obviously has either lost that burning desire to play or he never had it to start with.

As I said, I know someone who knows him well, and I'm not casting any judgement on his character... Just his apparent lack of desire at the moment.

Because he went on a holiday at the end of the season?

Because he hasn't committed to the Lions?

He played out a game with a broken jaw this season which should give the "someone" you know a clue or two about his commitment.

Nothing to do with going on a holiday, but going without having things squared away. If he really wanted to come home to Adelaide, he'd be making that known - he did this time last year. But this year he seems like he's really disillusioned? Don't know... Just a feeling I'm getting. Hope I'm wrong.

To be honest though, he hasn't played well enough this season to be boldly calling the shots on where he'll go. Teams would have seen his second season and wondered whether he was as good as he appeared in Year 1. I doubt there's suitors knocking his door down.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him stay at the Lions.

Hmmmm
B Crouch replaces Danger
Redden replaces Mackay
Who goes out for Aish?

2 players for 1 is an extra body AND will force Grigg, Lyons, M Crouch or CEY out.....which may be okay. We can trade or swap for another defender....

Redden and Aish to Adelaide(Probably needs something else)
Danger to Geelong
Geelongs First and Second to Brisbane?

Given where your list is at I figure two players who could step straight in to fill the void would be more beneficial than draft picks? Quick thought hypothetical. Apologies if it's the wrong thread.

Certainly not good to see quality players leave. Hope you's push the trade and get fairly compensated. :thumbsu:

Yep. And Patty is exactly the sort of player we need more of. None of this "I'm going to think over my decision". I want out and I want out now. Lots of character.

I'm not bitter.

If we had an offseason of: Bennell, Hampton, Aish, Redden and Menzel we start fixing 3 main problems on our list

- Speed
- Skills
- Depth. Bring those five blokes in and I doubt any of the golden ticket brigade get games next season.

Redden would be a good experienced player to get to replace the Fraud.

How do you know he hasn't made it known? Maybe he has and we aren't reciprocating?

Agreed. Sad thing is I'm pretty sure he's not happy here. Not going to play your best footy if you aren't happy.

I actually don't mind that trade , we get a midfielder in Aish who shows potential and Redden who eases the pain of losing Dangerfield.

Danger told his mates he didn't know either
Yes, good point. Only thing I'll add here is that last year he was definite in wanting to come home. This year he just doesn't know what he wants or where he wants to play.
