Greg Swann seemed to intimate the other day that certain managers are leveraging to go home factor well in negotiations. Seemed confident we could keep everyone we wanted, but that we'd probably have to pay a bit overs early in their contracts.

That said, not sure why you guys are getting so excited. If you want Aish, you'd very likely have to pay something close to value for him - we're not going to see scenes like last year repeated again in a hurry. May as well just be equally excited about the draft.

Last time I checked this is the Adelaide board and we are doing nothing wrong in discussing a legitimate issue concerning our recruiting - clearly it offends the sensibilities of Lions folk so the easy solution is not to read it.

Lets be honest if we had a star kid on our list who was born and bred in Brisbane and had made noises about not wanting to leave Brisbane, you would have a 50 page thread already

Eh? Which Brisbane supporter/s here claimed to be offended or claimed you were doing something "wrong" by discussing it? Think you are tilting at a sizeable windmill there Peter.

Thought I was just adding my view to the discussion. If it is one of those "no opposition supporters allowed" threads then so be it, I wasn't aware.

As for your own board? Nice example above from Alex above of your hypocrisy. Maybe we should change the thread to " operation get aish" ???

You seem to be fronting up to fight me and providing a counterpoint to statements I am not even making.

IIRC - it was that flog who posted some crap on the Port Power board and then came on here to tell mus some more crapolla.

You are more than welcome as you discuss this with reason and common sense.

Your post encourages us not to get excited about a trade and to focus on the draft itself.

Not as direct as some of your brethren but the intent is the same.

If you want to post here that's fine, but don't direct this board to focus on other things when it's entirely relevant discussion, just because it dosent suit your agenda.

And also don't assume people don't read what your posting on your own board.
 
Lions drafted him at pick 7. He has been super this year and played every game bar 1 when he was rested. A very good chance to win the Rising Star. If he wanted to return at the end of next season ( would be very sad for us Lion fans) unless he had a terrible 2015 he would surely command a first round draft pick in top 5. If Crows first pick was say around 8-10 i'm not sure thats good enough.

He seems an outstanding lad and i'm hopeful he signs a new contract. We have made a number of key re signings in last few weeks so hopefully that encourages the kid to stay.

The talk about Lions stuffing up Tippett deal is pure nonsense. He was offered big money and showed no interest in Lions. I know nothing about Adelaide's dealing in player contracts and it's fair to assume Adelaide supporters would no very little about what deals Brisbane put together. So please drop off the Lions stuffed up the Tippett move - it was never happening.

The Lions put a new contract extension to Aish but he knocked it back. He also told the club he doesnt want to talk about his contract. He has one more year of his contract and I am assuming he will wait until that comes to an end before he looks at re-signing. That can be seen as a negative, but the club also has a year to make him happy. Most players re-sign and so the odds are he will as well.

He is slowing down now towards the end of the season, but there are several games where he would be BOG, the Saints game, iirc, he played an absolute blinder. When he is on, he has so much space and time and executes on both feet very skillfully.

Absolute gun, quiet first half though, but for the impact he has had and considering he's what <50 games... is up there with the best.
