I really dont know how to rate James. I think he is a great prospect but im not sure whether he will reach the heights people here expect him to.

Its hard to pick but theres just nothing that screams out to me like a Dangerfield, Martin or Fyfe. We will be paying a huge price to get him so we want the best.
well hes a completely different player to all of them so thats not surprising is it. you dont needs a shitload of xfactor to be a gun player ie jordan lewis. aish is much more like brad crouch imo.

I reckon he will end up a bit like Bryce Gibbs cross Richard Douglas. That is, really solid all-round midfielder that likes to use a bit of pace and has a decent kick.

I should re-phrase. I definetly see him as being a good player, maybe better than that but is that enough for us to give away a first rounder to get him, partivularly if we are unable to prize one back from elsewhere.

He was melbournes best player when he left.

That's not true. Was in and out of the side with injury and form his last two years, only playing a dozen games each year. Had some reasonable form for a couple of games then a foot injury put him out for the season.

That Melbourne side won 14 games, finished fifth, had Rivers win the Rising Star, and had probably a dozen of their recent stars still playing.

I think Jenkins and a second would get it done, but I can't see us trading Jenkins - unless we're using our first round to get Carlisle.

Jenkins wouldnt be bad trade bait if we are happy with ROB as a 2nd ruck and Ramsey can progress. Otherwise too important IMO.

MMM this morning said they think Aish is gone but wants to go to a melb club who is into him.

I don't buy it, pretty sure they said it was chuck berry who had the word on that. Who knows how if it was from him.

Worth throwing in to the thread even though I think those guys talk a lot of rubbish

Please stop getting me unnecessarily excited. The thought of that is salivating.

But in all seriousness, that's the way it would most likely be going down if it was the case.

God I hope we are right into Carlisle. I dont care if he currently plays for a Vic Club, we would be shooting ourselves in the foot not to be.

Varied reports on how good he was.

I suppose all that really matters is what the senior selection team thought of how he went about it. You may have some inside knowledge, but that article suggests Woewodin appreciated his efforts. I think there's a real chance that Leppa will be pretty hard on him this year given he's put off contract talks. Would be interested to hear your view on him regarding this year and what you expect.

Not so sure. A good Aish game could have changed the result against the Pies. I doubt any single player could be the difference between them and the Roos this week. So far at least.
I dunno, I love it when my opponent shoots themselves in the foot. Take it every time.
