A few minutes ago they said on Talking footy that Brisbane - not the players - have put contract talk on hold until the end of the season for its 3 uncontracted players - Aish, Leuenberger and forgot the 3rd one, as they are aiming to be heavily involved in free agency with players such as Charlie Dixon at year's end. apparently this is a unilateral decision by Brisbabne as Player Manager Liam Pickering didn't see this coing at all.

Looks like they're prepared to trade these 3 to get salary cap space for their targets.
Jeez - if they put Charlie Dixon up for grabs he'd have a fair few teams knocking at their door. Power forwards are rare as hens teeth.

Aish will seem like sloppy seconds :-)

Leunberger I can see getting traded most likely to Freo? As Sandilands will be retiring soon
Aish I hope will come to us :p

Fremantle also have Clarke, Griffin, Hannath, Moller, Apeness and Pearce hanging around, the latter of whom are probably more KPP, but all are 200cm+.

not if the drug cheating as done before there was a contract, port knew what they were getting into when they went after ryder
Not how these things work. They may get paid as the AFL HAVE BEEN COMPLICIT, BUT IT CERTAINLY WONT COME OUT OF SALARY CAP.

If they claim innocence (which they have) then Power are perfectly entitled to offer a contract under that presumption. Anything to the contrary such as a guilty finding will breach the contract as they are unable to play and perform their side.

A doping violation would surely be a breach of contract with the AFL and the contract can be terminated without pay out.

Agree, plus they would no longer be on Essendons list as the contract is terminated.

Would make the 2016 draft interesting if the players get 12 months.

Is Charlie Dixon a free agent this year, having been a Suns player for 8 years - including years before they entered the comp?

There was talk about this a while back but I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere.

I think McKenzie is in the same boat (maybe Zac Smith as well).

Was that talk based on rubbish? I'm thinking they've only served 7 years at the Suns anyway. Perhaps it will apply at the end of next year to any out-of-contract original Suns?

And more who have failed ;)

But on Alistair Lynch, wasn't he one of the 8 Roys players selected by Brisbane post merger, i know it's a bit of a schematics argument but still i wouldn't say that was courage to look for greener pastures... it more just fell into his lap.
Schematics argument??? What is that? Some kind of fruit?
