Is that before or after my Gosh Darndest folder? ;)
My record keeping is terrible. I believe the Gosh Darndest folder is stored between the photos of vegetables that look like rude bits folder and the instruction manual for tha datsun 180B.

Yarran for Mackay, Aish for VB would be a big win

VB for a 4th rounder is a big win. I rate Lyons, but I'd package him with Mackay in a heartbeat to get Yarran. But imagine if we could offload Wright and Dmac for Yarran. Surely Carlton aren't that stupid, although Triggy seems to be getting involved in recruitment with his metrics.

no one is taking vb. At 29 with no form he is not worth anything. Martin would be worth more.

No one is that stupid. I wish people wouldn't put up these ridiculous trade scenarios. We'll give you our garbage and you'll give us a diamond.

Have you seen how bad Brisbane have been today?

Even with 2nd year blues, he'd be a better option than quite a few...

Not really. His lack of intensity and impact is pretty much in line with the other players he is contesting spots with.

Another week,.. another session of yelling at the TV, namely Martin, Henderson and McKay... Sooo Rubbish.. Trade them all together for anything we can get.. if that's nothing.. fine... delist them.
If playing Atkins, Knight, Lever and co. early proves anything, we are better off playing the kids.. they are better!

Lyons our 2 and 3
For Aish and their 3.

Aish would be worth more than Lyons alone.
A swap of picks allows us to have a big upgrade in the 3rd round whilst they get a mid to late 2nd as well.

There's a lot of whispers over here on the radio of Aish ending up in Melbourne, I've been off the forum for a month or two, is there anything behind the rumours?

I'd be surprised if there was... those rumors have the feel of Brisbane trying to create some competition for Aish to increase our offer.

That's what I thought, doesn't really make sense that he would ask to come to Carlton/Melb/Collingwood. Fingers crossed, as I think he would be a fantastic addition and see him as a similar player to Gaff at this stage of his career.

Pardon the intrusion, but just noticed this thread had gotten active again so I thought I'd share my thoughts compared to the ones that were echoed a year ago. To be honest, most sensible Lions supporters saw this coming once he had postponed contract negotiations, not once, not twice but 3 times. One was last year till the end of last season, the next was to the end of the pre-season, and the most recent one was at the end of the year. Generally, it doesn't take a genius to work it out.

According to Rockliff here, Round 16 is here and we haven't heard anything from him, or his client. Presumanly, the prick Pickering has been trying to gather some interest in Victoria, throwing in names like Carlton and Collingwood to drive the contract offer from the Lions/Crows up.

"Time will tell, and as the year plays out I'm sure they (the club) will get a better indication," Rockliff told AFL.com.au.

"If you get to round 15 or 16 and he hasn't signed, you'd probably think he'll leave.

"We'd love him to stay, we think he's a part of our future."

I've met James, and he's a polite lad, very respectful and nice enough to speak to all his fans and supporters. As I understand it, he is waiting till the end of the season to weigh up his options. In the likelihood of happening, these are the scenarios I see playing out.

Scenario 1: Traded to a Victorian club. He wants the attention and glory of playing for a 'big' club. Being 19-20, I would think the attraction factor of ladies would be much higher in Victoria than Queensland where some people still think Brown and Black are playing. 50%

Scenario 2: Traded to Adelaide. If he was to be traded to any club, I'd hope it's to yours. The lure of coming home, would be a fairy tale coming true. And to be honest, you've lost your fair share of players over the few years, and maybe Dangerfield this year to Geelong or whoever. 45%

Scenario 3: Stay at Lions. IMO, highly highl unlikely unless something extraordinary happens like he finds his future wife, gets married and has a kid and is unwilling to move a young family. It happens ya'know? :p 5%

Leppa comes out and says this to add some new tension/confusion onto the situation.

"Guys like Dan McStay, Darcy Gardiner and Lewy Taylor, James Aish, Harris Andrews - they're all names that are going to be around for a long period of time at the footy club.

"It's exciting for our long-term vision.

I'd presume that after the GH5, the Lions will probably grow some balls during trade week and do something about this, but what they will do, I have no idea. It's getting to the business end of the season, and the drama around this will get more interesting. If I've said anything wrong, feel free to correct me, and I'd be interested to know your thoughts on possbile trade scenarios.

From everything I've heard about James including from family who are mates with him, your characterisation in scenario 1 is miles off the mark. Glory, fame and harlets don't seem to be his thing at all. To me, from what I've heard, he's ridiculously mature and is huge on his mates and family
