So he is very overrated by people. Because of the Suppose Lack of Weapons he has nothing to set him apart and he is another that Could Dominates in the State Leagues but can't make the Jump to the AFL?

I think he is still capable of being a good AFL player dave, just don't think he will become one of the games elite.

Put it this way he has a long way to go to reach the heights of his pre draft rating.

Buck's wasn't elite over a short distance. Kicked it way too hard making it difficult to mark also resulting in more shanks than was ideal. But he was the best I've ever seen over a long distance.
Disagree he was elite over any distance, he may have kicked it too hard (subjective really) early days but not many people seemed to drop them so it's a moot point.

Buckley and shanks you are joking, it was rare thing to see Buckley shank a footy over any distance.

Alot of players lack 'weapons' but still can be elite. Technically speaking none of Pendlebury, S Mitchell, Priddis, JPK, Cripps are damaging due to their lack of athleticism initially. However they have developed into great players with experience and footy intelligence. Pendlebury, Mitchell now knows how to find 'space' and the right positions to run to. JPK and Cripps gained immense size to dominate clearances. Priddis still isn't strong nor a player who's smart like Pendles but is still in the elite tier of inside mids.

You don't need a weapon to excel in AFL, you just need all of your attributes to reach a certain level and become a well-rounded player. Can see Aish doing that, but he needs to work harder to develop as an outside mid right now.
Pendles is elite ball winner, awareness, vision, kicking, handball in traffic, dummy step and is a big mid being 190cm.

Mitchell elite ball winner, endurance, vision, kicking, handball and timing of meeting the fall of the ball.

I never said Aish won't make it rather I don't see him being an Elite player of the comp like was first hoped. Elite being top echelon of players.

So with Aish looking to be a Confidence Player. Is Bucks a Good Coach at that as that was 1 of his Big Knocks that he was not good giving players Confidence.

Hopefully this is something he has worked on to make him a Better Coach
The only person responsible for Aish being dropped is Aish.

21 years old, some players mature quicker than others, give him time. Taylor Adams took a while coming across. How old was Dane swan when he had a break out year? But in saying that we can't expect aish to become elite, he may become a good component to the team which is all you can hope for, not every top 10 pick becomes elite

I don't think he's strong enough, gets pushed off the ball too easily.
Might need to build his strength in this area to compete, unless he attacks the ball on the move to buy him some space and time to dispose effectively.
I do like him though, perhaps he needs to add the wing and half back strings to his bow.

I can see him being that link player through the midfield on transition. Still think that his vision and decision making is quite good and will only get better.

I think if we were picking our best 22 this week, then Aish doesn't quite make it.

But I feel for him after missing r1, then coming back r2, then getting dropped r3. He seems to be a player that needs a bit of a cuddle and support. Seems to lack confidence and just needs to know he belongs.

In any event, I think it is better for his development that he gets to play in his preferred role at VFL level and rebuild his confidence. It worked for him last year, and when he came back to the side he was very good.

I think with our packed midfield, he probably will slot in best across half back because we are a bit light on in that area right now. I'd just have him play half back for a few weeks and build up some confidence.
Packed midfield. Its going to more packed when JDG. Wells and Wills are in. Theres no room for this guy no matter which way people spin it. In short he was cure to the Freeman disaster. Id be very surprised if he was to come good, at this moment its looking like another horror storey from a underperforming recruiting dept.

So Aish trade was a Waste of Time?

Round 2 was his first game of the season. Few dud players in our round 1 game who weren't dropped for round 2. Bit unfair IMO. I don't see how he had a bad attitude.
Are people saying he has a bad attitude? My criticism of him is that he doesn't impact the contests with the heart that an AFL player should. Seems soft.

I think Aish will be a servicable player. The problem with him is where exactly do you play him? What is his best position. On current form it is hard to see how he will fit in our midfield when all are fit, he lacks some pace and doesn't seem to get to enough contests. When he does get involved he is very good and that is the frustrating thing.

He has shown a little bit up forward, but I think I would look at trialling him behind the ball. He is great overhead seems to read the play OK and uses the ball well. If he plays similar way to how Adams did last year down back that could work plus he uses it better.

Aish seems a confidence player and if he doesn't have a defined role or position then it will be hard for him to build confidence.

Not sure if he is a confidence player. Just might be someone who's not good enough to contribute at a high level on a consistent basis. He is yet to show anything (at Collingwood or Brisbane) to suggest he is going to be anything more than he is now. Needs to get more damaging, he's very vanilla at the moment.

For mine he needs to get his game upto Bartel's game. He might not ever be as good but they both posses similar ability traits.

So he breaks into another position. I think can compete for a half back spot with Ramsay, Smith, Maynard, Sinclair and Scharenberg his only real competition.

I don't think anyone in that group is secure in the side, so there is an opening there.

Regardless of how packed the midfield is, if he performs well enough he'll get a game.
