What does the article say?

Fairly nothing article, Brown used it as an opportunity to have a dig at Aish, then said he hadn't seen enough of Scharenberg but in the next breath called Silvagni and McKay certain future stars despite neither of them having debuted yet.

The best bit about that article was someone in the comments section saying that Brown had "offended" over Aish. That person deserves half a Twix at least.

BigFooty just censored me using the words butt and hurt together. Thanks again North Korea!

I don't think Aish will show his true worth until he gets a run in the middle as an inside/out player. I don't think he is suited to a wing due to a clear lack of foot speed and neither is he good at half forward as he operates better at VFL level when he has the field in front of him, he otherwise struggles to make a decision and back tracks more often than not.

I was a doubter of the trade because I didn't like what I saw of him at Brisbane and had concerns on his lack of speed for such a light frame player. However I was a bit reassured when I saw he signs of good decision making in the last VFL game I saw him play, and decision making to me will be his make or break. He needs to follow everything Pendles is doing because he needs to get as close as he can to the type of game Pendles plays. Not that I think he'd reach Pendles' level because he doesn't have the same talent or physicality but perhaps a Dal Santo at North type of output.

If he manages to do that, he and De Goey in the middle have the potential of being a damn good combo in 3-5 years.

Am I missing something? I read the article and all he said was, "I'm not convinced about James Aish".

Why is that so controversial? What am I missing? Should he be convinced?

Was alright tonight. Much better after he copped a massive spray from Pendles in the second. Still a VFL player but the best game he's played for us imo.

Pretty sure he said he was close to being a bust. Seems like sour grapes given the kid is trying to find his feet in a new team.

This is the only mention of Aish in the article:

"I’m not convinced about James Aish, he’s on the verge of being a bust"

What am I missing here?

Aish is a keeper. When Bucks gives him the midfield opportunities of his favourites like Greenwood and Crisp, he will prove this. Silky smooth with disposal, great overhead, and a cool head under pressure

I don't see it. I think you guys are getting a bit ultra precious reading that into Brownie's comments. He always says things bluntly, it is how he is. That was polite by his standards.

Really, I am not trolling here, that was a nothing comment by the great man.
Saying a 20 year old kid is on the verge of being a bust is ok?

So going on Browny's rationale on this year performance Schache is on the verge of being a bust?

Let's be real here, the reason he says things bluntly is because he's an idiot. Doesn't have a whole lot going on upstairs to explain his thoughts properly.

I'd be more interested to hear Brownie's views on his old club. Do they even have a future?

No I really just don't see it. Maybe slightly OTT? OK, I'll concede that, but that's about it. It's Brownie, the great man. He says things bluntly all the time, and this was polite by his standards.

A really precious response by you guys. If I may slip into Brownie mode for a moment here, harden up a bit.

Good luck with him, seriously. I don't mind the guy at all and I don't wish ill on anyone, ever. However, Brownie's comment is a nothing comment. It's a typical "move on, nothing to see here" comment. To put it in perspective, if you were on top of the ladder you'd have laughed it off.
I'll be honest with you I couldn't care less about Browns comments I just think it's funny you coming over here calling people precious while you're the one that got drawn into here because people are sledging 'the great mans' comments.

i bet he didn't think (or would say) Aish was a bust last year. Fairly sure if he was still at Brisbane he wouldnt speak of it.

The fact is, it's pretyy sad when they give a media gig to a guy just because he was a great AFL player. Would be without doubt the most useless afl media go by far. Adds nothing at all.

Is class when he's involved; you'd just like him to get involved more often.
I'm not sure I agree. I was really impressed with his tackling and contested work tonight. But I was really frustrated by his habit of not taking responsibility for the possession he won. He disposes to players who are worse kicks in worse field position too often. Particularly by hand. I think when he gets to find that composure to look at options further afield and hit them up when he is under pressure, we will have a beauty. But right now he treats the footy a little bit too much like a hot potato.
