Scandal James Hird no shows Gippsland Sportsmans night for the second time without explanation

JAMES HIRD NO SHOW
Brownlow medalist James Hird has failed to show up to speak at the Lakeside Club Sale for the second time. Patrons paid $50 to attend the night after it was rescheduled. They have not been offered a refund or an explanation for his absence. Patrons had come from as far away as Warrnambool. Jobe Watson spoke but fans were left frustrated. Were you there? What do think is going on?

So there are two camps here, either you hate Hird for what he did and see the worst in everything or you support Essendon and love him and make excuses for the guy. Nowhere left for this conversation to go.

Regardless of if you are a Hird fan or not, if you are booked in to an event and don't show up twice without an explanation, it's s**t form. How much is a phone call to a landline nowadays?

Doesn’t make much sense.

Comments on the post say there was this weird situation where organisers kept saying all night “he’s running late” before announcing at 11pm he wasn’t coming and “we can’t contact him”. And Watson was there instead.

TBH it sounds like they knew well in advance he wasn’t coming, got Watson instead, they decided not to tell people so they wouldnt be issuing refunds.

Hird may well have pulled out and that may have been a poor effort, but the situation seems a little strange.
