If Fev could be picked up cheap enough, put through a good pre season and played in the VFL side till he proves himself (maybe the first month to 6 weeks of the season or longer) i can't see why he wouldn't be worth a go.

Fev can **** off as far as I am concerned, keep him away from Essendon thanks.
We've got KPP talent, and this w***er would destroy our culture.

I am amazed that people are actually considering him TBH, we're having trouble fitting all of our KPP's in as it is! I am so against the idea that I am genuinely getting stressed about it haha!

Because our ******** quotient is already being pushed by Hibberd.

1. No, but mainly because of a role change.
2. Yes.

So where does that see Lovett? Loved him as a player, but had a bit of the Leon Davis' around him. Went missing in key games.

Load of shit. Could just about pencil him in for votes every blockbuster we had against Carlton, was influential in getting us up on Anzac day '09, and won an Anzac Day Medal.

But yeah, very comparable to Davis and his collective 10 possessions over 10 finals matches

I saw him tear some games apart when we looked out of it.

Apparently Hirdy was always the one that could get in his ear, and set him straight.

I think if you take him cheap, you make him play his way into the team, hard pre-season, start in the 2's...you give him a chance to get his life back....

With genuine extraction power in the team now with Hock, Watto, Howlett & Lonergan.....I'd love him on the end of some handballs - was always an elite deliverer of the ball....

lovett >>>>> hurley.

I doubt the Saints will keep loading up on older players.

I dunno bout that, Ross Lyon/Paul Roos are never concerned with age or troubles players e.g Peter Everitt/Andrew Lovett, providing they can contribute to the team

With Riewoldt copping more attention they need another Key Forward, Fev loves the Saints, lives in Beaumaris, which is 20 minute drive to Seaford. If Ross Lyon stays at Saints I think he will consider it as the Saints last chance to snare a flag in premiership window, with return of Lenny Hayes and a young middy with 1st draft pick.

The only chance Fev has is to go to a professional club like Collingwood (has good relationship with Eddy) or to a club with experienced Coach/Leadership group. No chance at Bulldogs with Leon Cameron at helm, Melbourne couldnt handle it either, Cats? maybe.

But your right he has a 10% chance of being snared mainly because of club politics/sponsors.

No way, less of a chance then fev, at least Fev is playing decent footy at the moment.

Rule a line through the big Gumboot for 2011.

Looking forward to another pre-season of positive reports on how well he's travelling...

Next year will be the birth of the Essendon messiah... I've invested too much emotional energy into him for it not to be the case...

Gumby: Essendon leading goal kicker 2012... Put it in the book!

Agree.

You would like to think he has turned it around (in a life sense) but you could never be sure and trust him.

You'd think so THIS time, but we've heard it too many times, it's not worth it unless we're a genuine tilt at the premiership, and we have no Full Forward.
I don't think we're in either of those situations, he'd be good at St. Kilda and the Blues, that's about it.

Yep. They'd potentially, instantly become a genuine challenger; up there with the Pies.

Of course Fev will probably never reach even 90% of what he was though, IMO.

Spot on. The Blues should take him, just take the chance. He could be the missing puzzle in them winning a flag. Even if he is only good enough for 40-40 goals, that could get them to a GF.

Do you mean Bendigo ?

:D

No mate... In the big league... He must... It wouldn't be fair on my brain if he didn't.

Hate to say it - But think your brain is in trouble - Hope I am wrong

So Carlisle to go forward?

Fletch, Pears, Carlisle and Hooker in the same backline. I guess it could work with Fletch taking a small.

I don't mind that at all.. Frees him up so much. He is a lot more damaging when he is on a lesser known player.

Pears takes number 1 forward
Hooker 2nd
I'd even chuck Hardingham on the 3rd best forward (if there is any)

Carlisle must must must play forward!

Has learnt his lesson. I would take him in a heartbeat.

His contract is performance based both on field and off. You can't lose doing it that way.

Do you think we take on a new shrink at the club if we list Lovett and Fev? ;)

Scott has played a couple of games and will play this week, most likely in the reserves. Both of those guys will hopefully be very important in the next few weeks."

Hird said the injury-prone Gumbleton had made significant progress in recent weeks.

"I think if you asked me that question six weeks ago I would have said he's not moving as well as we would have liked, but over the last six weeks he's really improved," he said.

"We didn't play him last week just to make sure we were looking after his body, but he'd played a few up until then and at training on Tuesday he moved probably as well as I've seen him for a few weeks.

"It's taken him a while to prepare his body, but fortunately for us he's coming good at the right time."

Gumby has every chance of playing in 2011.

Nothing there implies that he won't - even this week was more of a "most likely in the reserves".

surely they wont play gumby in his first game for the year in a final, lets get him to the start of pre-season injury free and give him the best chance to play next year!
