I doubt the Saints will keep loading up on older players.

If Fev could be picked up cheap enough, put through a good pre season and played in the VFL side till he proves himself (maybe the first month to 6 weeks of the season or longer) i can't see why he wouldn't be worth a go.
1. No, but mainly because of a role change.
2. Yes.
So where does that see Lovett? Loved him as a player, but had a bit of the Leon Davis' around him. Went missing in key games.

I saw him tear some games apart when we looked out of it.
Apparently Hirdy was always the one that could get in his ear, and set him straight.
I think if you take him cheap, you make him play his way into the team, hard pre-season, start in the 2's...you give him a chance to get his life back....
With genuine extraction power in the team now with Hock, Watto, Howlett & Lonergan.....I'd love him on the end of some handballs - was always an elite deliverer of the ball....
lovett >>>>> hurley.
Fev can **** off as far as I am concerned, keep him away from Essendon thanks.
We've got KPP talent, and this w***er would destroy our culture.
Agree.
You would like to think he has turned it around (in a life sense) but you could never be sure and trust him.
Yep. They'd potentially, instantly become a genuine challenger; up there with the Pies.
Of course Fev will probably never reach even 90% of what he was though, IMO.
Rule a line through the big Gumboot for 2011.
Looking forward to another pre-season of positive reports on how well he's travelling...
Next year will be the birth of the Essendon messiah... I've invested too much emotional energy into him for it not to be the case...
Gumby: Essendon leading goal kicker 2012... Put it in the book!
Do you mean Bendigo ?
Apparently Hirdy was always the one that could get in his ear, and set him straight.
No mate... In the big league... He must... It wouldn't be fair on my brain if he didn't.

So Carlisle to go forward?
Fletch, Pears, Carlisle and Hooker in the same backline. I guess it could work with Fletch taking a small.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/timely-boost-for-bombers/story-e6frf9io-1226121871781Scott has played a couple of games and will play this week, most likely in the reserves. Both of those guys will hopefully be very important in the next few weeks."
Hird said the injury-prone Gumbleton had made significant progress in recent weeks.
"I think if you asked me that question six weeks ago I would have said he's not moving as well as we would have liked, but over the last six weeks he's really improved," he said.
"We didn't play him last week just to make sure we were looking after his body, but he'd played a few up until then and at training on Tuesday he moved probably as well as I've seen him for a few weeks.
"It's taken him a while to prepare his body, but fortunately for us he's coming good at the right time."
