Hird stuffed up, however he was more careless than evil mastermind and has served his penalties.
Don't see why he should be kicked any further - very much doubt he's the first person in history to make a mistake in life, serve his penalty, then want to move on from it.
He was entitled to present the Norm Smith and did so.
Be great if everyone could move on.

Yep and if Hird had just copped to that from the start, then things would have been much better for everyone. I accept that initially he made a not unreasonable mistake with the 'program'. It's his subsequent belligerence and failure to acknowledge the mistakes that has always been the troubling thing for me and that attitude is what drew this whole saga out into a very unpleasant and unnecessary time. I suspect most people would have moved on a lot more quickly but now, for some, it will take time. And fair enough. Just have to accept that.
