I agree with you, rizzo. I have actually thrown his name up before, but Pods has really improved since then. His performances against our VFL side were very strong, even though he didn't show it on the scoreboard. In the first clash, he beat Egan, whilst in the second encounter he spanked Spencer.
He is a powerfully built KPP who is ready made to slot into a side if good enough. I think you may even see further improvement if he is on an AFL list (he will be playing and training professionally).
Pods had a run with the Cats after the 2002 season, but as I said, he has improved greatly since then. I have seen many games of his due to my association with the Werribee Football Club and he was simply fantastic this season, and he won the B&F too!
People expecting him to come in and kick bags would be disappointed. However, any club that takes the punt at drafting this 24-year-old will be rewarded with a bloke who gives his all and would be extremely serviceable.
I understand there may be interest from the Bulldogs and Sydney, so if the Cats were to have a look they would really need to consider where they wanted to draft him.
And if selected, Pods would be re-united with his best mate (DJ) and that too could be a positive.
