If we are going down this track I would prefer an Aaron Edwards

I agree, not that I've seen anything of Posiadly but Edwards is a reasonable type.

He had a couple of good games for WCE, but for mine he is a Bryan Beinke. No offence to Bryan, but just too short to play key position at AFL level. Either needs to find a yard or a few inches from somewhere.

Just my views based on what I've seen.

I would say yes for a one-year contract in 2014 but I'm too worried that we'll offer $800K.

I'd rather we didn't go JPod. I've liked what he brought Geelong and he has done a fine job over the last four years but he just wasn't the same player this year.It wasn't a massive drop but it was the start of the decline and I just don't see him getting better or back to a level next year. We'd be better off investing the time in our other forward players than stop gapping with him and to be honest if we were going to get a delisted Geelong forward I'd rather it be Chapman than JPod

With Jpod I guess it depends on whether Smack leaves, which seems likely. I can see the Crows thinking in filling a need for a big body that can smash packs and bring the ball down. He'd be cheap, lose no picks, Graham comes to mind as similar deal last year for insurance for Sauce and we all know how well that has turned out for us. Risk is high, but Sando would know him better than anyone and what he brings so who knows. Either way at worst it is filling a spot on the list or we rookie him.

If we think that we can have a deep September run then we should get Pods, if we don't we shouldn't. I think we should load up for chappie, personally, He is brilliant!

I get the point of getting pods, which is to be an option should Tex have complications with his return, however i don't see the gain of it as the game time is better used on Lynch, Johnston or Otten..

Yeah, he's not good enough to make you go "**** yeah I want that Cnut ", he had a shocker IMO in the prelim against the Hawks.

It's more that there is too little gain for the risk. Pods had a very poor 2013 and looks like father time has caught up with him.

Better to give game-time into the people that's careers is on the line at the moment and see if they can survive the dreaded cull.

That's the Crow-mo everyone raves about?
Doesn't seem like an especially pleasant bloke

Yes it is.

Crow-mo was and still is a fantastic mind, although it would appear hindsight was not kind to him on this issue.

He was this board's biggest loss, he was a very blunt poster who had a low tolerance for stupidity. Most people who didn't like him here were people he made look rather silly. After he was banned I took a break from here myself.

I still talk to him via another forum and he is calmer and more mellow there.

If we are recruiting pods, we may as well recruit some other big gun key forwards.

Maybe carey, lockett or barry hall are available?

Get him back!

He had his positives no doubt but he just went too far and enaged in too many one on one wars. Not a fan of perma bans though, surely rehab should be considered?

Why would Pods come to Adelaide anyway if Freo wanted him.
He seems the perfect short term fix for Freo in their current KPF situation (unless they can persuade some other decent forward to go there).

Either way, not to Adelaide - i'ld rather we work with those (younger) KPFs we already have.

Im open to the jpod idea.
I have very little faith in smack to do a job for us and with tex and jj coming off massive injuries and limited preparation he could fill a need for us.

Free get
Low cost
1year contract.
If it doesnt work out for various reasons i dont seeing being any big dramas.

Sometimes you have to recruit for the now. Im all for getting games into youngsters but not when we are spiralling down the ladder.

We're not 'spiralling down the ladder'
No from me.

He would be cheap as chips and has runs on board.

I don't see the issue getting him in on a year contract at base wage.

Could play the first few months of the season at the very least. Would also take the heat off Walker when he returns.

I know if we made the GF next year - I would rather have Podsiadly in our forward line than not. So it's a YES from me.

IMO it would be good to get someone to cover us for the first 5-6 rounds while Tex is coming back. We don't want to start the season 0-5 and the pushing shit up hill to just make finals again. A ready-made forward who even if older, can carry us for a few games is just what we need.

Is this person Podsiadly? Not sure.
