I wonder if it's in his right leg? Probably dumb question, but can tattoos cause vascular issues? His left leg is clean as far as tattoos are concerned.

Not unless it leads to infection at the time. Which would be apparent.

If he gets back for finals, would we fly him to interstate games?

If it is a claudication issue, flying would make no difference whatsoever. If it’s a clotting issue, by the time of finals, flying would make a negligible difference but he might be well advised to wear compression stockings for the flight.

I think the key point is that the first update that came out, was before Elliott had seen the vascular specialist to develop a program let alone implement it.

The initial timeline given had Elliott coming back between weeks 13 and 16, now we’ve just finished week 12 and they’re saying that he has not yet fully recovered, albeit the messaging sounds positive.

Long story short, this is a condition the club has not seen a lot of, they implemented a program which is showing improvement but not at the expected rate, so they’ve updated the timeline.

Even if we accept that a lot has happened in the last 7 days and his timeline to return has ballooned from 1 to 4 to 6 to 8 weeks, the reasons given which primarily revolve around his playing fitness is clearly a line of BS designed to deflect.

In reality I think the basic premise of the Tom Morris reporting is accurate and it'll take another 6 to 8 weeks before we know if the treatment he is receiving has cured his condition and he can safely play again.

Fingers crossed.

I think you and I have interpreted the phrase “improvements in his conditioning work” differently.

You have taken it to mean he’s gotten out of condition and needs to improve his conditioning.

I took it to mean that he couldn’t train without exacerbating his symptoms, and he has improved to the point where he could train more before exacerbating his symptoms. i.e. improvements in his ability to train.

So if he is now nearly recovered, he is now nearly able to participate in full training. There was talk of running at training etc. which is good. But the fact is he still isn’t able to train fully, and hasn’t presumably since playing Carltank on 3rd May. So let’s say he can return to full training in two weeks, after a month out already in which he could do very minimal training… I wouldn’t think 6-8 weeks would be that far off the mark, maybe with a little expectation-management-mayo on it?

Jamie has already achieved his sporting nirvana, by being a premiership player. 200 games would just make it an ideal finale to a sensational career. In all likelihood he will have won 2 marks of the year, a feat not even Howe has achieved.
Another Billy (Picken) was the last Collingwood player to do that.

You're obviously not gay, black, Asian or a woman, all groups that he suggested it was okay to mistreat.

Dane Swan and friends punched up a cleaner once giving him brain damage, still hate him?

People make mistakes get over it.

The thing I’ve observed with Jamie the last two years is he is totally fine then after a heavy hit or two, he goes into this crippled man mode. It affects his mobility and kicking. Otherwise he is an unbelievable athlete.
He generally comes good after a spell. Hope we can get one more spurt out of him even if it’s next season

How many Changs have you had today Neil?

Yes, I'm totally forgetting how I "accidentally" was a bigot to basically every marginalised group I could think of.

Such an easy mistake to make... 🙄

Didn't the club hire a low altitude jet to fly the team interstate a few years ago?
Was that when we beat WCE in Perth in the SF in 2007?

In b4 someone jumps in and says “it doesn’t matter because all language is just a human construct, and we are mostly just empty space between electrons of which we can only identify their location or path, but not both simultaneously”.

Or fishnets. That'll give Tom Morris something to write about.
