Just for the lols:

It's looking increasingly likely Luuk De Jong will be our number 1 target this window. He seems keen on the move.

Gomis also tweeted a picture of him getting English lessons last week - maybe a hint of something to come as well!

Why does Everton want Jones when they have a far better (similar type) of player already there?
Because its almost a certainty that Lukaku won't be there next season and if the rumours about Jelavic leaving to Hull are true, he will fill a void in striker depth at Everton for the remainder of this season. Potentially a view of Jones being their main striker next season. He is a small risk financially and might thrive with better service and a different game plan at Everton.

The same Jones that can't get a game for Stoke?? Surely if Everton are serious about improving (which it seems they are), they won't bring in a washed up hack that doesn't get a game in front of Peter Crouch.

I keep telling myself the rumours are bullshit, but you never know. I remember rumours we were after Robbie Savage for about 5mil. David Moyes even said we weren't after him. A few days later, news came out they rejected our 5mil bid for Savage. What a ******* bullet dodge that was

That was the old Everton, the new Everton doesn't need Kenwyne ******* Jones. Maybe he could get a game at Tranmere though

Ross Barkley could almost become their striker in a Rooney type role. They should be looking at someone like Benteke who will want to take the next step from a mid-table club.

Luuke De Jong was linked to us a few years ago, thought he was a decent player but very slight physically. Hope he's grown a bit since then
Yeah, he was pretty highly rated a couple of years back - his last season for Twente he bagged something like 25 goals in 32 league games.

We were very keen on him before he went to Gladbach but couldn't match what they paid for him. He seems to be a bit bigger now - 188cm and 86kg. If we get him, he will likely lead the line for us with Remy and Gouffran/Ben Arfa playing as wide forwards.

Villa would let him go for about 15-20m, especially with the form he's in. They have just signed Holt from Wigan with a view of making it permanent, I could see it happening in the offeason.
No they wouldn't. What makes you think Everton has 20m to spend on a player?

If Villa seriously replace Benteke with Holt, they will have seriously lost the plot. Holt has been terrible at Championship level.

Oh and Benteke is in no kind of form at all. Has 6 goals from 18 appearances this term.

I probably worded that wrong, I meant Benteke was in terrible for and I think he'd worth around 20m, he's in shot form so Everton could be able to steal him for 15.

It's not even a rumour anyway, just an idea.

Benteke doesn't wanna play for Villa anymore

Been pretty average since he came back from injury

That'd knock the price down for someone who wants him in the summer
