Cesc back to Arsenal, don't really need him, but then, we didn't really need Ozil either.

Tomas is 33 and already prolonging his career by playing (fantastically) from the bench and as a relief starter, and Arteta is 31 and not getting any quicker. If Fabregas wanted to leave Barca, and he doesn't, you'd have to be mad not to take him.

I understand we have quite a few (understatement) out with injury at the moment, and hopefully they start coming back over the next few weeks/months. But make no mistake we desperately need to make some signings.

I no I'll the whole doom and gloom speech, but the fact is we are 4 points off the bottom of the table.

The fact we've been so quiet while Hull have signed Jelavic/Long and Fulham are trying to get Morrison frustrates me. Not to mention hearing Cardiff on the radio every day and nothing about us. We could've done a lot worse than chasing Long or Jelavic, both proven goal scorers.

I think we need to sign in the following positions;

GK: I love Tremmell and he's been a good servant. I feel that he is no longer up for it tho. Time for a new back up.

CB: Ash hasn't had his best season, but still solid. Amat is developing, keep. Chico has been a liability this season and I've never been a fan. Decent depth option, nothing else.

Winger: Dyer, Lamah both out and question marks over Lamah's quality. I think a quality
creative winger is required.

Centre Attacking Midfielder: I think we look a little weak through here at times. Especially when JDG is out injured as he currently as, I also get the feeling he'll be moving on next season.

Striker: I loved the Bony signing at the time, and I know we need to give him time, and we aren't playing the best creative football at the moment, but he just isn't scoring enough in the league. With Michu injured, out of form and Vasquez being a spud - we really need another striker.

Possible, (slightly) realistic options:

This was hard however;

GK: ????
CB: Lescott (loan, probable wage constraints)
Kurt zouma (loan, once sold to Chelsea, loaned on)
Liam Moore (2m)
Wingers: Tom Ince (4m, seemingly unlikely now with Monaco),
Anthony Pillkingtin (1.2m)
AM: Abdisalam Ibrahim (250k),
R.Morrison (8M)
Adam King (200k)
Strikers: Ayoze Perez (2M),
Iago Aspas (loan)
Gomis (7M)

Along with the above, word is the
Black Cats are going to only offer 4M for Ki despite him improving ten fold the season. I'd be pressing for 7-8M for sure.

Wouldn't mind a big fish. Just don't think put squad if deep enough.

Need more goals, a lot more goals

Hopefully get a few back over the next 7 or so days, because we have some very important fixtures coming up after the FA Cup

Pretty much going to be our reserves out on Sunday, but hopefully with Spurs high line we can get in behind them.

Pls sell Vasquez for whatever we can get for him. He's
Worse than Schecter! I'd rather Leroy lita in front of him.

That'll be a massive loss if that's the case, he's far and away our best RB, the only thing I can think of is that he is upset with the treatment of Fabio(who has done SFA since arriving and is lucky to be with us still)
Rafael rubbished that.

I like the long signing.

7m seems like a lot tho. 19 goals in 81 apps for WBA, not terrible but not great.

Still think Jelavic and Long are good pickups albeit over priced.

Suppose we are in January.

Swansea could've done with Long.

Has Long gone through yet?

Quite surprised if it has. Seems obvious that West Brom wanted to cash in before his contract ran out in May. But thought there'd be 3 or 4 clubs in for him (although the reported price may have put a few off).

Still, a good signing if it does go through. Hasnt had the best 12 months but I rate him highly.

Agree with this. Two strikers that are horribly out of form but showed something once upon a time. Hopefully with a change of scenery, the two of them will be able to hit enough goals to keep Hull up towards 10th.

How did Arsenal not need Ozil?

Sorry I should probably didn't explain my thought process too much. Ozil was an amazing signing and I'm so happy we have him. I was just suggesting that the midfield is probably one place Arsenal didn't really need bolstering at the start of the year, our midfield was pretty strong last year, so the big signing would have looked better else where. Having said, the injuries we had at the start of the year we were so grateful to have a man of Ozil's qualities around. I do have a tendency to forget the ages of players e.g. Arteta is 31 and Tomas is 33. So Cesc probably would also be a welcome back to the fold with open arms for sure. If we could get him, we would look like serious contenders in all competitions.

Except that his contract doesn't run out in May, everyone keeps thinking that but it's complete crap lol, they have an option for an extra 12 months. WBA do. Not Long. So if WBA want to get more cash for him they can extend it to next year, which is why he's costing so much.

He rolled his ankle so medical will resume in morning, looks pretty nailed on now though.

??? How is Long 'horribly out of form'? Have you watched him play at all this season?
