Which is pretty much what every club is compared to Celtic over there
Exactly right, Victory would probably beat most middle table clubs in the SPL. Reckon he's also got WC in mind and I know who I'd be picking if I had a choice of Victory's best performer or Kilmarnock's (for example). Get him into Australia and Angie will get a good look at him.

Now that Kruse is out Rogic really does need to step up a notch for us.

Rogic could become the best player in the world and we'd still lose all 3 matches, just need to try not to get embarrassed this year.
Oh of course we will, still means that I would expect our young players to step up and show they want to play for their country.

I guess that's true, but will he get noticed in a team getting beaten 5-0 by the likes of Spain and Holland?
Well that's why I'm saying he has to step up. You can still show individual brilliance in those sorts of games, and it actually can be more impressive to do so.

Heck, Villa presumably signed Holman off the back of one goal at the last tournament.

I've lost track of it over here but I haven't been to a game in a couple of years. The matches I saw scarred me too much to rush back, but I may be convinced in a couple of years if the standard keeps increasing at the rate it is.

A new bid for Salah by Liverpool seems imminent, being reported by the Liverpool Echo, The Times, The Guardian & The Telegraph.

Our interest in M'Vila continues but we're trying to haggle with Rubin Kazan over the fee (reported by Di Marzio). We're also still looking at Montoya (who is out of contract in the summer and still no closer to signing an extension with Barça)(reported by Mundo Deportivo), it sounds like if we can't get him then we'll look at Clyne (probably in the summer).

Liverpool need to stop taking the piss with these lowball bids and just pay the asking price.

Thats how it works right?
Absolutely. If we really want them we should just meet the valuation and get the player in the door, don't see the point of all this dicking about for the sake of a few million.

West Adelaide Bloods, Man City.
a couple of mil over m'vila, who would provide a backup/challenge to lucas, is just plain stupidity

salah isn't as important, but again, a couple of mil? come on. it's liverpool, not crystal palace. just pay the man

meh
The A-League is a joke league.
The A-League is 6 years old and improving at an amazing speed.

it has also produced a fair amont of players playing for European sides (Oar, Kruse, Rogic, Sarota, Zullo, Ruka etc)

It's not at an amazing level, High League 1 at best, but 6 years ago it was League 2 standard.

It's actually nine years old, but good post.

How many people who criticise the A-League as a "joke" league have ever been to a game? People need to get over their European snobbery and get to a game or two - they might even enjoy it.
