My response was to Pool fans wanting to flog him off cause Klopp doesn't know how to use him, on his very large wages you'd need to take a fair bit if a hit if you were to move him. Not sure why you'd want to anyway as he's a very good CF.
He's on like 70k isnt he? Ive heard silly rumours that he is on 150k or something but it's crap IMO.

I think they are made up.

No chance we put Benteke on 140k. We are known to be cheap asses with wages. Nothing Benteke has done would suggest he would be put on wages that high.

But anyways, people can believe what they want. I dont even care, he will be sold in the summer for around 25 million anyways.

You think they're made up because you want them to be.

Just a common sense thing mate. Absolutely no way is Benteke on a base salary of 140k a week. We are tight arses. I'd put my life saving on him being on something closer to 70k with incentives.

But who cares, we all have our views and opinions on it.

Equally, you could say common sense would suggest that a player at his age moving to a bigger club on a transfer fee greater than £30m would no way be on wages of "only" £70k a week.

I don't think it's too outlandish that he's on £100k plus. Perhaps even £140k. It's not like Liverpool aren't capable of this level, Suarez was on £200k+ in his final year if I recall correctly?

Suarez was a special case because he was a special player. Benteke wouldnt have been on huge wages at Villa. It's not like we had to convince him to come to Liverpool by throwing cash at him. Just no way he's on that much but none of us will ever know so there is no point discussing it anyways.

So why is Milner on 150?

Is he a special player too?

Don't you have a transfer committee?
The greatest trick Rodgers ever pulled was making people believe the committee is responsible for everything and he never signed anyone he wanted

Lallana Benteke Milner Allen Lovren Borini etc were all guys he wanted and got. The committee and Rodgers each signed their own players. And I'd say the committee has a better record than that fraudster

In fact the committee was setup in the first place because Rodgers (who wouldn't take the Liverpool job if there's a DoF) and his judgement was questioned when he turned up to the club and said he wanted Allen for 15 mil and Borini for 12, then got angry coz we wouldn't sign him Dempsey.

So the commitee was set up and they signed Coutinho and Sturridge, whom Rodgers didn't want.

Fair enough.

Apparently Oliver Torres has signed a pre-contract with us - just working out a fee now.

Anyone seen him play and would like to give me a rundown on him?

he's very, very good.

i misread that as oli torres, who it actually turns out is the guy.
yeah i just edited that - must have been thinking of Oscar from Chelsea for some reason. But yeah Oliver Torres. Just looking at some skills videos of him - would be a decent replacement for Guendogan with age on his side
