Am I the only one that thinks £12m isn't a lot of money for a player any more? Particularly in England, there must be a dozen players per window who are bought by English clubs for more than that.

A bit different. Poch wants him nowhere near the team. Levy tried to flog him off and couldn't so we are where we are. Not so much he convinced Levy more so that he has a legally binding contract and the head coach would rather pay him to do nothing than disrupt the team culture.
I'm confused about Adebayor, when did he sign his 1 year contract extension as I swore he only signed originally for 3 years, unless another year was activated as a contractual clause if he met certain targets?

look over that and question how sunderland are still in the premier league. possibly the worst team when it comes to transfers in over the last few years. the amount of pure crap they've brought in, and when they finally target someone who has proven themselves to be talented in the prem, it's a fellow relegation battlers best player!

Don't know about its accuracy or where they sourced the info but this article about salaries has him listed to 2016 contract expiry and looking it up he did sign a deal in 2012 and all that I can see media outlets saying is "believed to be" ending in 2015.

http://www.totalsportek.com/money/tottenham-player-salaries/

He can finally sign elsewhere now that we've reached January given we PL registered him after the summer window.

Their signings this season have been good on previous form, one of the biggest bunch of underachievers imo though, similar to Newcastle, players with a heap of potential but decline after moving to the north-east.

Sessegnon and Gyan were their biggest signings, but Gyan left for cash

Mignolet for 2mil, Sessegnon for 6mil are pretty good deals. I like Van Aanholt (1.5mil) as well.

Kirchhoff and Coates would be a good CB pairing in the championship. Don't rate Kaboul at all.

You're right though, they shouldn't be in the EPL. IMO they are clearly a worse team than Villa, No idea how they are above them.

Who is the best player they have signed in that period. Would think it is out of Mignolet, Johnson or Larson maybe.
i would've said gyan. he was really, really good. mignolet the other, but technically gyan came in after mignolet.

the rest have been okay, johnson isnt really worth the fee + pay packet, lens was a decent signing, sess was okay. but that run of signings in 13/14 is just mental. roberge is still there, watmore has a bit of potential, mavrias is still there, mannone too of course. they had to pay cabral to leave, he played his only game in august 2013, and was still on the books until feb last year.

the fact they're even still in the prem is a miracle.

At least I'm not Bobby Madley
How does Charlie Austin get sold for 4mil and Townsend get sold for 12mil? Should be the other way around.
Austin's contract was running out in the summer and apparently he's on 100k a week though.

Newcastle have spent 25m on Thauvin and Townsend now so they better hope Andros delivers the goods on Tyneside.

Thauvin is probably going back to Marseille on loan.

I remember reading 6 months ago that Newcastle were willing to bid 15mil for Austin. QPR should have jumped on that.

Personally I think that would have been a better option than Mitrovic.
