News Jarman Impey recruit of the year???

Having a rare free period I checked the AFL website and noticed that they have already published a "sliding doors" for round one. In it the author made a very bold call.


Now as crazy as it sound right now I think he may have a point. Impey was amazing during the JLT season and looks to fit right in with the Hawthorn line up. I would love to know your thoughts on the article. (Feel free to call me an idiot) Last comment: Graham Wright is a genius.

Would love this to happen - just pray that Barrett hasn't jinxed it. He hasn't got the greatest record of saying things and those things happening.

The Hawks wanted Jarman in his draft year - they wanted him last year - there has to be a reason we are so keen.

Enjoyed his interview in the latest copy of Hawk Talk too - sounds like a really grounded young guy.

I wouldn't say that Sarah, but you do take a risk quoting DB. However, having said that I believe he could be the recruit of the year. Last year, I liked the way he played for Port, my only criticism being at times he went missing. Now he is playing for a club he loves, he is close to his family, so I'm expecting big things from Jars this year.

Maybe I saw what Clarko say, and we know what Clarko can do with good players from other clubs, don't you? And Jarman Impey was our targeted objective for this year. If you check, just bling when you get to Ty Vickery, who was a small blotch on the record.

Considering waspy’s well know thoughts on how Hawthorn flags were all gifted by umpires, I thought I went easy.

Yes he shall win the coveted 'recruit of the year' award that allows us to claim we won a trade, and Tom Mitchell will win the Brownlow, Sicily the Norm Smith, Roughead to add another Coleman, and O'Meara the B&F. Burton will play so well he shall transcend the concept of awards and medals. And the football world will despair.

I've gone from outright pessimism about Impey to being really optimistic and hopeful over the preseason.

Actually seeing his pace and game sense out of the square is exciting, especially from a relatively young guy.

Not sure he'll ever be [superlative] of the year. But he could be a very nice piece.
