Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
jay didnt get as much love because he played his best in south australia.
Waite may have had the higher ceiling or could have been the better player but mainly due to injuries never got there.
Looking at both careers as they are both done and not taking into what could have been jay had the better career
When fit, and he did play over 200 games, Waite was the better footballer.
Played multiple positions too - was great at CHB for Carlton for years.
Nobody is saying Schulz was s**t. But Waite was better.
Neutrals backing this up.
very very shallow post. waite was a swingman and played a lot in defense.Just look at jays career after joining the power 7 seasons eclipsed waites BEST 7 easily. and we were far from a good team, very poor team in fact for a number of those years.
16 games 33 goals
16 Games 31 goals
15 games 42 goals
24 games 49 goals
25 games 66 goals
20 games 44 goals
7 games 10 goals
thats his time at port, thats not picking and choosing his best.
compared to waite, picking and choosing his best years
2015 42 goals 23 games
2010 36 goals 16 games
2005 36 goals 21 games
2018 32 gaols 13 games
2013 29 goals 16 games
2016 29 goals 14 games
2007 28 goals 22 games
now pick one player of the two for your team knowing careers, jay by a mile. Thats not including the years taken up on the list injured or having poor years.
potential is a word that can be used for anyone, it only gets you so far. weather it be because of injuries, didnt train hard enough etc etc
He first moved to play CHB in the preseason in 2007, before playing up front during the season. He played back in 2008, then he played mostly up front in 2009 with some small amounts of time back.Played multiple positions too - was great at CHB for Carlton for years.
Schulz every day. Potential means nothing unless it manifests itself.
2003-2009 Waite spent a lot of time as a defender. There was points during his 2007/2008 where he looked like going on to being a dominant CHB. in patches of 5-10 games. He was only a full time FF since about 2010, the 3 years he managed to play through full seasons he kicked 42 goals, and the other two he swapped to CHB plenty of timesJust look at jays career after joining the power 7 seasons eclipsed waites BEST 7 easily. and we were far from a good team, very poor team in fact for a number of those years.

Im going to call you out and say you've been only watching Football for about 6 years. Waite's body of work wasnt just as a forward
Waite easily.Have at it. Which of these was the better footballer?
