My googling tells me he kicked 62 goals in 12 matches in the Tassy State league before rookie drafting to Geelong where it obviously didn't work out.

Is 20 years old, 193cm, 90kg and has Pods like hands. Is regularly kicking goals at the Bees.

From those that have seen more or know more, would it be worth taking a punt or rookie punt on the kid?

Quick answer, Fat and slow. Not what we need. The VFL and the Tassie comp is a long way from the AFL. We should only look at talls or quicks.

Garth is 192cm and 93kg but is actually deceptively quick.
Let's not forget that Geelong finished last in the VFL last year, not the ideal situation for a forward. Anyway any talk of rookie listing Garth isn't worth it now because he ruptured his ACL on the weekend and requires a knee reconstruction, putting him out of action for the Werribee finals campaign

The only explanation for this is that we told him during the week that we will draft him next year.

Poor bastard. Well if Tomy davidson wanted one last opportunity to present himself - here it is.

tom had his chance,

even when they put pods down back and left garth up forward with davo,
he couldn't get near it. Garth is by far a better player than davidson.

very strong overhead mark, has good leap, and leads well. Is very quick off the mark as well. Big strong player but probably not the most skillfull.

I work with Garthy...lol good bloke who is now playing at Chelsea or Seaford. I was just googling his name coz I heard he had a stint as a rookie at Geelong and I wanted to verify this info. He had a few years at Keilor in the EDFL playing full forward and kicking heaps of goals.
