What is the story here?

On the Herald Sun site is says Jarryd Allen (St Kilda) has nominated for Thursday's draft. Have they got him confused with the other one in the VFL?

The VFL player (Sandringham) is called Jarryd Allan.

That said, they must have got it wrong - surely Jarryd Allen will not have experienced a miracle and suddenly have a hip fit enough for AFL football again.

EDIT

Jarryd Allen retired in August because of a chronic hip injury and though he is not looking to play on, it is understood his nomination is related to St Kilda's list management.

It is Saints Jarryd, I believe they are going to re rookie him if available as he is still on contract but not sure if he will play. I think that way if still a rookie then his pay doesnt count in the salary cap

Would be interesting to know what this means. Does this mean we are going to pick up another experienced player in the ND/PSD? Or have we front ended contracts (maybe just Rooey's ;)) to have capacity to draft a name at next year's trade week due to the impact of GC17?
