Isnt bush out still? He'll suit up surely with hyde a little banged up
Reggie Bush (calf) has been downgraded to out for Week 3.

Bush was listed as doubtful on the injury report. He has still yet to practice since suffering his calf strain, but has a chance to return in Week 4. Mike Davis will back up Carlos Hyde.

Mike Davis, another rookie who otherwise wouldn't have seen a single snap all season has surpassed Hayne. SF don't trust him. The Hayne phenomena (pfffttt) is OVER.

As for Bush, he should just retire. He'll be lucky to play 4 games this year. I expect the 9ers to sign a vet RB at some stage to plug a hole. Hyde can't do it on his own.

Time for a cut. Hayne plane back in the hangar
Nah. He is the 5th highest in Jersey sales in the entire NFL. But the negative nellies here cant say its because of Australian sales, because the American sales figures are for official US apparel sales, and doesn't count chinese knock offs that most Aussies buy, because of $ conversion rate to the USD.

Hayne is just a great story. He didn't do it for the story, he did it for the challenge. Isnt his fault his talent and success has made him so popular and written about. Funny how the knockers are louder than the supporters and lovers of a good story. People are voting wit htheir interest....and Jersey sales. Be they from official apparel sales ($170) or the easily found Chinese knock offs ($25 a Jersey delivered)

Huh?

The NFL released the sales figures.

The same NFL report stated 90% of those sales are from Australia.

It's not being negative to stat a fact.

Just out of interest, why would you think Americans are buying his jersey?

Probably all from the Hayne family & friends, NRL mates, media outlets....all manufactured hype to propel his career. I have not seen ONE regular Joe walking around in a Hayne, let alone a Niners jersey, across Sydney (and I travel from Penrith to Bondi, from Manly to Cronulla, and everywhere between, on a daily basis).

I AM seeing a larger regularity of regular Joes wearing NFL gear.....but it's usually....Raiders, Cowboys, Steelers, Seahawks, Broncos, Patriots, and those types of teams. Not even a single Niners jersey. Have seen the odd Bears, Bengals, and such teams too.

Bengals, Bears and Steelers seem really popular in Melbourne

I genuinely think there's a lot of bullshit manufactured hype from Hayne/Agents/Media, (buying up his jersey), and that the regular aussie isn't sucked in by it, and that genuine fans of NFL have their own teams and wear that gear around. That's not counting all the Islander teens wearing Raiders gear purely as a fashion statement.

Patriots as well, but that's a given.

LOL. :drunk:

Still a poor mans Tebow. full of media Hype, sells heaps of merch but has little skill. I think Tebow would be better if he tried HB
Tebow would still be in the league if he'd switched to HB (look at Webb and Pryor). Was probably the main reason Belichick got him to NE, to talk him into playing HB. Unfortunately god told Timmy he was a QB and nothing else.

Am dreading that awkward moment when I got to a party and someone else is also wearing a Bortles jersey

Are you serious? Why don't they just pour petrol on a pile of cash and burn it? Has anyone ever done that before? Anyway I believe he gets a percentage of sales so it would be a good earner for him.
I talked to a Parra fan last night and he had just ordered his second, the first one was way too big because, you know, some Americans are morbidly obese and XXL isn't the same in Australia :).

I wonder how much is due to the fact that, aside from the Broncos, the teams you've mentioned are generally the easiest teams to get merch for at Rebel Sports and similar places.

I suppose one good thing for Hayne, when the 49ers drop him to practice squad, no other team is now likely to pick him up off waivers, so he gets to stay on San Fran!! Good news for him as he can then spend the time to get to know the game. In a year or two he could then crack a start as returner. Win/win for the rugby league legend.

Btw has any rugby league player ever successfully converted to another sport? (Union doesn't count).......oh and neither does Mundine because he has lost against any half decent true boxer. Just curious.
