Yep, it's the old cliche but the hard work for him particularly starts now.

He's shown what he can do with mostly natural/rugby ability, now it's about taking steps into the playbook and learning how to become whatever kind of back he can be to get some kind of regular season play outside of a return here and there.
Well now he will get less snaps in practice due to the limited time from now on, and there are only 1 padded practice a week.

Less snaps might make it harder to keep 4 active specialists every week. I think he will be active 10 games this season.

Geese be more offended. Did Hayne sleep with your girlfriend or something?

how is that being offended? because im not sucking him off? When you can only have 46 players active a week i dont see how you can waste a 4th spot on another specialist every week. and saying 10 games active is still more than half a season.

Not when you have the ball.

No it's because the media is making it embarrassing to be an NFL fan in Australia or something.

He had more yds than any of his team mates in the game today. This from a guy who's played not even a handful of games in his career. Let's see how he goes after 4-5 games he may blow the league apart.

Do you suggest Hayne will be taking snaps away from Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush at RB?

It started questionable, but he really got into the groove. Very involved. Seems as though he's set to go!

Good on him...brace for the media fellating

IMO Hayne's had too many highlights during the pre-season not to make the roster. I'm pretty sure the 49ers will realise that they won't be able to get him onto the practice squad and therefore they'll keep him as RB4 (Carlos Hyde, Reggie Bush, Mike Davis, Jarryd Hayne) and PR.

He's shown good vision running/returning the ball and also the ability to catch the ball (as a receiving threat).

No idea. Depends how he performs I guess. So far he has performed better than them this season so far
You've reinforced my opinion of why I don't care for preseason matches. Hayne may well develop into a good NFL player but right now, he's played against camp fodder.

If performing better than the starters in the pre-season meant you replaced them as the starter, the pre-season would be a different looking thing altogether. Do the numbers on some starting QBs and the 2nd/3rd stringers and you might see those QBs being replaced. It is a play management game for those starters. Running/throwing etc against other teams 2nd/3rd stringers doesn't make you the starter.
