about Pavlova ??????? :)

It's this meringue and cream pie thingy with passionfruit and froffy shit all over it. Controversy surrounds its country of origin. Some say NZ others Oz. One thing's for sure, Hall won't be coming to Carlton. Er, goodnight.

sorry to spoil the fun but i think you'll find roughead is contracted untill 2010. the only key hawk thats unsigned is hodge.

We hear these sorts of "rumours" alot... how many actually eventuate???
From what I've seen, not many!

I heard another rumor that Chris Judd was leaving the eagles at the end of the year!

seeing as though we openly admitted we had the money to cover for kerr if he was to come to the blues I dont see why we couldnt provide roughy with a good pay packet, he wont move though, simple as that

Well i think we will be needing that money for Kerr, is very unhappy at west coast and being very difficult around the club, he definetly wants out and wants to go to the Blues, Source, a relative who works at the eagles.

Awwwww , he just misses AJ!!!!!!

Do. Not. Want.

Total tool.[/quote]

Exactly the words my cousin used when i asked about him. They are doing a survey at the WCE about the most uncoperative players, Kerr is getting all the votes off the WC staff, wont do anything thats asked of him, arrogant, rude and makes things as hard as possible for everyone. Was told he was doing this as a way of getting out and going to the Blues. But do we really want someone who is that hard to work with at our club? Maybe he would be different at us?

didnt he agree to a 2 or 3 yr contract with wce last year? he had the chance to come to us but he didnt choose to, don't want him anyway, we need a key forward, we should have a real crack at roughy

Ive met the guy out on a number of occasions, and I concur with the above 100%.

Also heard more than a few are pissed off at the way he held the club to ransom last year after the $$$ vacuum left by the departure of Judd and Cousins.

Seriously. Attacked a cab driver, forged drug prescriptions, taped talking to notorious crime figures, known connections with scumbags and drug dealers, attacked two seperate teamates on two seperate occasions(Embley and Cousins - breaking Cousins arm IIRC). Have I missed anything?

From everything Ive seen or heard of the guy he is just a grade A++ knob.

WCE shouldve traded him last year. Theyll hold onto him for one more year then he'll the first player to be shipped of the the GC.

Better off targeting 'mid-range' players we can afford to trade for VIA the draft, then 'unattainable' targets like Roughead ...
The reality is (and it's frightening) is that most of the quality Free Agents who leave their club in the next few years, will most likely to go to GC17, they have the draft picks to trade for in spades, plus they get a massive salary cap allowence (including one 'superstar' spot on their list, which is exempt from the SC, under my understanding) and the weather up there is beautiful, and nice babes, and a lot less media pressure then the fishbowl of Melbourne or WA or SA, so I think the Gold Coast Footy club is in the prime position to snag the gun players like Roughead .

We haven't got the trading capacity or draft picks to grab him to our club, that is the undeniable truth.

i hear from KB that Richmond are in the box seat :p.

Honestly by the way they play and the results they are getting this year Roughead might not be happy there.

Think of this. We played them, they targeted Roughy going forward and he kicked 8 and they won. Most of the games after that they have kicked it to Franklin constantly and almost completly ignored roughead going forward and are losing. Why when a guy kicks 8 in a win do you stop kicking it to him?

Also the rumour I heard where every one is not happy and getting along there makes sence. But it's not a reliable source (from a friend of a friend who heard it from a Box Hill player who heard it from Hawthorn players).

CP - Never Knew this Geelong stuff.

Your time is done, bugger off.

Not a pimple on the flies arse of History.

Been Living under some rock you neanderthal ???

TBH I don't really give a rat's toss about ur opinions about me ...

Screw Roughead

Sorry to break up the pissing contest. But im going to try and bring this thread back on track (a bit).

I think people in here are dreaming if they think Roughy is going anywhere. Plus he would cost a fortune and we would have to give up way too much in return.

We are probably discussing the wrong hawthorn forward.

Im pretty keen on having a ping at Thorpe.

Wouldnt cost much $$ wise - also be happy to come over and get an AFL game. The future is bleak for a forward in waiting at Hawthorn with Buddy and Roughy.

Im not sure exactly what those two have to do to get dropped and for Thorpe to get a run in the seniors.

Rumours are Thorpe is talented but a bit arrogant, but what FF arent? Sounds like a perfect fit down at Visy.

We could offer him more money and more senior time than he is getting at Hawthorn. Very good chance he will play in a few GFs over the next 10 years as well. Big club, Big games. What more could he want?

Question is what would Hawthorn want in return?

Re: Screw Roughead

All the talk about Thorp but I know nothig about him.

How tall? How big? Good hands? Speed? Body use? Kicking? Contested marking?

Thorp

He's 194cm and weighs 88kg as at this year.

Not bad for a 20 y/o. Turns 21 on Christmas day. Still room to bet bigger.

Problems with injuries so far. Two hip surgeries, and now a broken foot. Out for the rest of the year.

However from all reports, he is a very strong mark, and a long kick. Good lead up player. Confident little shit from all reports.

Hasnt done anything at AFL level as yet, but has had limited opportunities due to injury/ Buddy/ Roughy.

Was initially drafted at pick 6, but I reckon we could probably snare him cheap.

I liked what you said Malice until this part: confident little shit. Sound's familiar. It hasn't been the best for young Robbo. Sorry no thanks. We already have on on the list. Not another thanks. :thumbsu:

Thorp and Robbo are completley different players.

Robbos problem isnt his ability to back himself. Its his disposal that lets him down.

That and he's a little... well weird.

IMO You want your forwards oozing confidence... even a little arrogant and cocky. Off the top of my head, I cant think of a forward in recent times that isnt/ hasnt been.

Only concern with Thorp is injuries. They are starting to mount for the young fella.

If he's well managed, and given the limelight, I reckon he'd star.

I believe that Robbo's only chance to become a star player for us is that he stops being a smart ass and think he is top shit, gets out there and plays decent football each week and play for the club. Remember he did fall to pick 40.
And yes...

He is al-little wired. :thumbsu:
Don't get me wrong. I like him a-lot. Just a couple of chinks need to be gone.

Thorp is risk player. Drafting from other clubs isn't our greatest success. Especially with injury.

Draft 2010?
