Just in case it was not already completely decided that he would be leaving the Pies, he was at the game today and spent the whole game talking to Damir, while all of the senior players there were sitting together as a group 30 metres away in the stand.

A few said hi to him as they walked past, to and from the rooms at half time, but he certainly was not a part of the team.

Disappointing, would have been our main tall in defence when Wakes, Presti and Clement move on.

Why?

Were we planning to field a defense that would get comprehensively beaten by any forward with a bit of talent?

Did he fluke 2002?

Fair point from PieLebo he played well in 2002... however if i remeber correctly he was used as an extra man in defense and didn't hav a direct opponent.

I agree though, at the moment any forward with decent talent does usually comprehensively beat Jason, however i think he can still be solid and give him another 2 years experience and he can maybe improve alot... i don't think it hurts to keep him at Williamstown for another 2 years and see how he goes.

remember Dustin Fletcher when he was young often was Comprehesively beaten by good forwards (eg. Sav Rocca on many occasions) however he was given time and after a while became a superstar fullback.

I think Jason needs abit more experience and with that like Dustin, he can also maybe become very good when Clement, Waklin, and Presti retire.

I was on the wing about 10 rows back in 2002 when a certain player playing loose in defence came over and knocked out Ricciuto. That move and that move alone got us into the grand final that year. It was close all day and Ricciuto was going to win it for them until he hit the deck. JC also had a ripper of a year and basically stopped anything comeing his way that year. Every Pie supporter was devestated when he was rubbed out for the grand final. But as SMH said he was a loose man in defence so he always got a lot of it.

If you were him would you want to stay and play under a coach who wont play you when you can get a game at plenty of other clubs?
Someone put a post up not long ago and i thought it said that JC was in the crowd bagging the shiii out of the guys on the field. A lot of people said this was crap but now it seems it could of been true. How hard would this hole thing be when you have brothers still at the club.

Any chance you could find that post again?

I think you'll find that post was speculating that Travis was commenting on the players. I can't be bothered looking for it though.

Our forward line became conjested this year, yes?
Why cant we play that 2002 J Cloke role again where he plays loose, I mean its become known that its been figured out. But what happens if someone DOES man him up? The oppositions forward line becomes conjested and flooded. So whats the loss?

He can go...and ill tell you why!!!

Nick Maxwell
Harry Obrian
Heath Shaw
Danny Stanley
Maxwell started giving me doubts towards the end of the year.
Harry has his ups and downs. Is NO WHERE NEAR as consistent as you'd want with a defender in your senior team.
Heater is a small, plus he will be moving into the midfield.
And finally, Stanley. Stanley has not played a senior game in the AFL yet. FadeAway, how can you put trust behind someone who hasnt proven ANYTHING yet. If we are going to go by VFL form with the likes of Anthony, Stanley, Toovey, Cook ect. Then shouldnt we all think J Cloke is a future AFL champion because he has been in BLISTERING form in the VFL?

Jason is not the problem it is the old man. Richmond decided it was in there best interests not to take Jason as they thought David could be to much of a problem to handle. I can see in a few years time none of them being at the club.

Jason hasnt been exactly terrible this year, i mean this guy has worked so hard to get into the side, but mick continues to use him as a scape goat and not give him games, gave them to morrison instead (i remember when cloke finally got selected over morrison everyone was like thank god), id like him to stay myself, but for him personally there is probs not much point staying around if u have a coach that isnt gonna give him the games when has earned them. And as deck said I think David has contributed to some of his problems he has with mick.

It was Tyson Edwards. Still a very handy player for us to have been missing though.

Mate, I was a team mate with him in the last 2 years, give him time, he dominated our league, absolute freak.
