After three years of hamstrung agony, he looks set to be recalled to the St. Kilda ones for Friday night's clash with the Crows.

Good luck to the kid. He deserves a break!

We have spoken about Crippa's comeback in the St Kilda boards.

I can't speak highly enough about him.

For three years he has battled his arse off to get back to full fitness while at the same time remaining a terrific clubman. From assisting Peter Banfield in our VFL team in the last few years to spending countless hours in the gym, he has been nothing but a source of inspiration to our players, particularly the younger guys.

And for our football department to remain so loyal to him is fantastic as well.

Who knows how he will play. What we do know is that for Crippa to just return to league football is a phenomenal effort.

To top off a big night on Friday, number 1 draft pick Nick Riewoldt will make his debut for us after taking 14 marks on the weekend. And finally young Chris Oliver will also make his debut after being promoted to the senior list.

We are in the midst of a nightmare period on the field but there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

I actually had to think about who he was. Actually not really but he has been out for a while. It seems like a century ...

Welcome back Jason :).

Yep, I echo those sentiments. I was at Cramer St last Sunday, and he was the standout midfielder on the park. I usually get into AFL players in the VFL a bit - but not him - he truly is an inspiration. Good luck Crippa - I hope you make it. Short term AND long term.

P.S. Riewoldt = gun. Mark those words.

i forgot he was still on their list....it is his last role of the dice, i think st kildas patience might be running out with him... but hey, they have kept him for 3 years so far...

no wonder the club is going no where...

Its no surprise then that his hammys were in such a bad way!!

Seriously, the kid was looking a very handy player before the (truly) unfortunate run he copped. Hopefully he can now put it all behind (DOH!) him and have an injury free run and show that he is indeed a very good league footballer!

Wishing him well for the game.

Does the name Leigh Walker ring a bell?

Well done Jason Cripps...I picked him in my Fantasy Footy team at the start of the season, he has 8 rounds to repay my faith in him!!!!! Should I pick him in my side Friday night or give him a week to get back into it?

Not a break of a bone I hope! ;)

LOL :D

Good luck Cripps, hopefully you make a couple of huge errors which result in crow goals ;)

it takes a lot of strength of character, hard work, determination and commitment to achieve what crippa has achieved this week. a lot of st kilda players can learn a great deal from jason cripps on what it takes to achieve your goals.

hopefully friday night is only another step in the complete rehabilitation of crippsy and he goes on and fulfills his potential he showed 3 years ago and has a long and successful career.

he should lead them out friday night.

They don't know what heart is.

I salute Jason Cripps, I joked before the game that I didn't expect Cripps to play well at all but just the achievement in itself would be sensational.

My quote was "it's not like he's going to get 30 possessions and be our best player".

Unbelievable.

Well played Jason Cripps - a fantastic effort.

Saints teammates - where were you? If you can't get inspired by that, I'm not sure what would inspire you. Or are the Crows really that good?

I'd love to say the Crows were that good but.........

Savatage,

I think that's the irony of the situation.

Most of us probably didn't expect that Cripps would play so well. We felt that his mere presence would be enough to inspire the side.

As it turned out, he was the only one to put his body on the line and play with any passion.

Sadly I have to agree with you. No heart at all.
