That is the worst mistake the sainters could have made to re-sign Gram... We have to many blokes on our list especially defenders who should be shown the door as they either soft as butter, not skilful enough and get smashed in one on one duals against other forwards. Unfortuantely to trade these blokes we would be unlikely to get anything for them, Ie Gram, Raph Clarke, Maguire (was a star once however injuries have cruelled his game), Leigh Fisher.
Would like to see Rossy, bring in some new kids and see if they come along like Hawthorn did 3 years ago, C Jones, Geary and Fergurson
Does anyone disagree??

haha get rid of grammy? you lot are absurd! we have absolutely no pace and you want to ditch one of the few players we have that can break the lines.. he needs to be moved up the ground imo.. this was the year he was supposed to be unleashed in the midfield.. it hasn't happened. rosco, chuck him in the guts!

We could have packaged him with something else and got a gun/very good midfielder like Daniel Kerr. Now what? We're stuck with him, hoping he'll recapture his form against a competition that has worked him out as being soft and unaccountable.

Mostly disagree, Gram could be a potential trade if Geary, Attard and Gilbert are all fit. Would wan't to be a pretty good trade though.
Many point out that without Raph we don't really have many tall defenders. However I think that he is just tall, and not necessarily better than a short defender jumping so I agree with you there. I would like to see Ferguson try his spot this year and I think we need to recruit more tall backs ( Max isn't getting any younger ). Maguire is injured and on the long term list. It is not hurting the club having him there ( and he will probably still get paid to go on the Footy show so it is good for him). Whether he recovers and returns to form is up to him and his body.

I agree that Geary and C Jones should get more game time, but that still leaves room for the likes of Fish and Blake on the list to fill in a number of roles. Mc Qualter should ( and has been ) delisted before Fish.

It may be abit harsh on Gram to trade him, however as we have seen with Hawthorn they made tough calls on some good to average players like, Everitt, Croad at the time, Naf Thompson etc etc... I feel that this years draft is going to be crucial to the saints, expecially with the Gold Coast team coiming in at 2011 with by all accounts them getting high draft picks.. I had no problem with their recruiting at the start of the year to get Schnieder, King, Gardiner and Dempstar as me like alot of other people thought these players would top up the list to have a geniune crack at the flag, however it dosn't look like that will happen so it is time to get rid of some good players who arn't going to get any better like Gram, Raph Clarke, L Fisher, X Clarke, and pick up some draft picks and start re-building cause i hate to say i can't see the saints winning a flag now with these blokes playing...

Bit over the the top mate. Gram was named in the opening squad for Victoria, he can play. He's struggling for form at the moment as are 15 or so others.

as much as i love robert harvey(best i have ever seen) its bad when hes getting more possies than the young blokes ( he should keep going )

we need a serious clean out

RE: Jason Gram...........The long bomb has gone....HIT a target
RE: Dal Santo ...........Kick the f+++ing thing, with all the rooting around he does with the ball the other dicks have manned up or flooded

RE: Goddard...AS ABOVE

And if Ross Lyon wants to me to coach for a week or 2 I will be more than happy to ..............man on man aint that hard:rolleyes:

When you talk trade, it has to be a decent player, otherwise you don't get anything in return. Gram is highly rated enough to get someone decent. ( I wouldn't personally want to have him traded but I agree his is a potential candidate). Normally this would only happen if we needed similarly valued player with different specialities more suited to the team.

As far as the others forget about trade, think "delist".

playing wrong possi his no defender, his a wingman kick the ball out to him and hopefully hit someone on the chest. lets hope he doesnt turn out like a ryan lonie because i remember a while back collingwood was in the same point where we signed lonie and didnt deliver

I think he has been worked out asa defender....due to his poor defensive skills..

I would try him on the wing or as a hf.

Whispers are he is carrying a hip complaint.

This trade talk is crap when you look back a few months ago when he was BOG in NAB cup final playing like we are used to seeing.

We need to release him more.

I have noticed his kicking comes off the boot a bit strange, a bit of a floating drop punt with not enough spin. I watch him closely and I'm used to watching him take off from defence when he isn't near the ball with an attacking mindset. All games I have been to he just hangs back and points his finger and gives teammates directions, unlike him.

Would explain his lack of bouncing runs and some problems with his kicking. But would like to see the Saints give these guys a rest if they have an injury like that - don't want to see another Luke Ball episode.

Yes that's just stupid to keep playing him if he's hurt. If it's true, then there are players like Fergie and Gwilt who can take his place until he recovers. They're not as good as a fully fit, raring to go Gram, but they're probably better than he is right now.

Personally i hate Ross Lyon, his mono tone after the game and his game plan that slowed down the game since Grant Thomas. Gram is my favorite player and i love to watch his big torps. this year though he has almost looked nervous when he gets the ball and every time he goes for that big torp he screw up as he is under pressure. he needs to practise more and Ross should allow him to run through the midfield rather than do a small backwards handball. We need to utalise his talent rather then ignore it.

played great today for my super coach, pity it was against my team

guys what the hell is up with kozi? is he carrying something? or is he just lacking in confidence?

Great to see Grammy doing what he does best.
As far as Kosi goes if you are talking stats, his role has changed from last year. Apart from that his goal kicking accuracy is a bit of a let down.
