I can see him being that Jed Adcock/Tim Notting type player for us for a loooooong time, love to see it
I went back and saw how well Fletcher played against Tigers with that run-past, quick handball and then a kick or handball to setup next player on the chain. Looked like a Whitfield added to our ist.

I think he will be better than both (not a knock on either Tim or Jed). Without wanting to load him down with expectations, Jasper has a touch of class the other two didn’t.

Five Lions roar their way into 22Under22 team

The exciting future of the Brisbane Lions has been further highlighted following the announcement of the 2025 AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 Team of the Year.

It was a Lions domination with five players selected in the team, the most representatives of any AFL club.

The quintet named was Darcy Wilmot, Jaspa Fletcher, Logan Morris as well as Will and Levi Ashcroft.

The exciting young group were all included in the initial squad before being voted into the final 22 by AFL fans across the country.

Wilmot was named in a back pocket with Fletcher on a back flank, Will Ashcroft starting in the midfield, Morris at full forward and Levi Ashcroft on the interchange.

Reaction and stories from Brisbane’s 2025 grand final win over Geelong
A proud as punch Adrian Fletcher was enjoying himself so much in the dying stages of Saturday’s AFL grand final he wished the game had kept on going beyond the final siren.

“We could have went another quarter I thought – it was a bit of a party in the end,” said the father of Brisbane Lions defender Jaspa Fletcher after the 47-point win over Geelong.

The former Brisbane Bears and Lions player never tasted premiership success in his 231 AFL games but watched from the MCG stands as his son, Jaspa, won a second flag in as many seasons.

“I’d rather enjoy it through my boy than as my own,” Adrian declared.

“I think it’s just special watching your kids blossom in their lives.

“At the end of the day whatever happened was going to happen and I would have supported him. But being a back-to-back premiership player that is pretty special.

“I would have been happy with one but to get two in this modern era, not many teams get to win back-to-back.

“It was a special win. We were probably the underdogs but our boys just held their nerve when the game was on the line.”
