Jay Neagle lined up at full forward at the opposite end of the ground against Mal Michael and he did exceptionally well kicking four goals in the first half. Two goals came via loose ball gets and two from strong marks.

Would you like him in the essendon line-up?

MIGHT - does he still have puppy fat on him and does he move fast - hope he shows a glimpse of talent to us all

No he is a unit, built up massive and lean. Is very quick, i think quicket burst speed at the club. Put this with his body which will only get bigger and good hands and you have a potential star FF

I'd like to see him go down to Darwin to play the All-Stars.
I havn't seen very much of him to make a fair judgement.
If Lloyd doesn't play, Neagle could play FF.
But from what i've heard he has trained & played exceptionally well so far this year.

Yep. Jay Neagle might be a gun in 2007.

Or he might not be. I reckon you're a 50% chance of getting that one right.

I think that is generous. I think their is only a 50% chance of Neagle actually getting a senior game in 2007, and only 3% chance of actually being a 'gun' in 2007

Im curious as to how you calculated 3% and what variables did you use...

He's probably behind Lloyd, Lucas and CJ at the moment ;)

But certainly what he showed on Saturday was extremely promising, espescially given 2007 is only his second season and he was bottom aged :)

Does anyone think CJ will begin in the senior side in Round 1? I tend to think they might wait till our first game in Victoria to start him. Any thoughts?

It does give you a warm feeling about where our forward line is going post Lucas/Lloyd.

Currently the idea of Gumbleton, Johns and Neagle may be pretty potent. Now, if we can just find a CHB and FB.

None have really proved themselves yet though. CJ would be leading I guess

I reckon Neagle might play a Aaron Hamill type role as a medium power forward roaming inside 50.

Has the strength, the burst of speed off the mark and the goal kicking nous of Hamill.
