Who replaces Bling for TDF?

I feel like BOC has earnt himself a climbing helper after this week. Other than Dunbar I'm not seeing much help. Schmid a little bit maybe, Bouwman would have been ideal but I see he is down for Tour of Austria. I've heard suggestions of Plapp but I think that's ridiculous.
Looks likely to be Plappy but I thought maybe Zana instead tbh

Dumb by Welsford, they've had several top line sprinters but the only one that worked was the GOAT, and I've seen nothing to suggest that he won't be converted into a flatland domestique while there.

Sam Bennett, Arnaud Demare (with the added benefit of his team likely to fold), Fernando Gaviria, Pascal Ackermann and Alberto Dainese are all OOC, as well as probably a few more I'm unaware of. Ackermann is the best of this group IMO, would be targeting him or Dainese.

Welsford hasn’t done much in Europe, but of the available list he was next best on paper compared to the remaining options. Interesting to see who the target becomes now. Also keen to see if the team finally addresses the classics

I'd go for Molano at UAE. A few are saying Welsford may still chose Jayco but he really hasn't done a lot in Europe. Groenewegen has confirmed he will be on a different team next year.
Can we afford to buy out his contract? He'd be my first choice outside of Kooij (who's going to Decathlon) but yeah, Benson has confirmed Welsford has signed at INEOS.

Groenewegen would have many suitors. A shame to see him leave but I suspect he'll get more money at a place like Bora or possibly a return to Visma.

Benson says his contract ends this year. UAE can still probably pay more than anyone else though.

Plowright is very gettable as a developing sprinter. Think he'd be a good leadout rider too.

PCS has it down for next year. I think he's a good 2027 target.

I like Plowright as a lead out man. I think he's a good Mezgec replacement long term.

Might find this interesting

The most interesting thing is that Plapp has changed partners. The way the transfer period is going, Jayco will have a pro-conti level squad in 2026. Out groenewegen, harper, Dunbar, Zana all who are recent stage winners at GT's.

It’s looking scary for next year. No sprinter to speak of yet, and losing lots of world tour winning/experience level talent. Really hoping to hear some positive transfer news soon, surely there would be budget for some decent moves?

Jack Ward choosing to go to Trek would have a hurt a bit I think. Groenewegen to the Rockets is absolutely bizarre if it happens. Most deals for next year will be getting done in the next few weeks so potential ins will start surfacing. McKenzie and Holmes getting promoted and possibly Wiggins is enough young riders.

Rockets is crazy, they wouldn't have much of a budget after that.

I think we nab Haig back and possibly look at Bennett

Haig is going to another team. Holmes, McKenzie and Wiggins are not yet ready for the WT, though Rafferty from the Conti team is the one to sign. Covi and Drizners are confirmed. The silve lining is the team has the budget to make a splash in the 2027 transfer period.

Any other news or rumours? Looking very bleak for next year

With the Intermatche and Lotto merger, and Arkea likely to fold, you'd be looking at the likes of Marit, Thijssen, Barre and Dion Smith from the former, and guys like Demare, Seneschal, Scotson and Mozzato from the latter

Kooij still not confirmed with AG2R, any chance Jayco pulls a surprise and lands a big fish like him for next year? Surely should have the budget for it

Nah he'll be at Decathlon L'Oreal next year

Potentially interesting development around Zana/Welsford & Ineos.

Andrea Vendrame signed according to Gazetta, alongside Covi. Zana staying would be good, he'd be getting co leadership in GC with Plapp when BOC isn't there
