Wasn't Gowers the leading goalkicker at the Dogs last year? Seems like he deserves to be in the team.
Misses too many easy shots on goal, which deflates the team. They work so hard to get it in his hands and he invariably misses about 60% of them.
If he could straighten up he would be valuable but others have gone past him

I seriously thought Laverde was de-listed about a couple of years ago. Then again I think there has a been a few things I thought happen that haven't.

If we get a puck between 40 and 50 we have done well I think.
Very well , Players like laverde just end up going for 4th /5th rounders to get them to another club if there is a club thats interested

He's worth basically nothing but he'd be a great bargain pick up for a club. Has immense talent and shows it often. A club like Carlton should grab him for a 4th rounder and watch him turn into a gun. It's not gonna happen at Essendon where he's constricted to the forwardline.

Don't think he gets into the medium forward spot ahead of McGovern, silvagni and Kennedy.

Not that any of them are world beaters.

You gotta get 'em early. Took us a few years to wash the stank off him. But he was always a far better player than Laverde. He could get a kick.
Funny part is Laverde would be great for you guys too. He plays like a Richmond forward with constant contesting. The rest of our forwards just don’t position themselves to support at ground level. A lot of divas who stop supporting if delivery isn’t perfect.

No I saw your VFL side last week get outplayed by ten more VFL players for three quarters. It’s your AFL system that’s great not the individuals.
We weakened our VFL side by leaving out some of our best, most hardened VFL players, like Ballard, Beasley and Silvestro, in order to play all our AFL-listed kids. If we're picking the best team to win, we don't go in as top-heavy, those three and possibly a couple of others come in, and kids like Miller and English who had zero impact go out.

Laverde does not get a game for Richmond, not without some serious time in the VFL learning how to play from Fly McRae, teaching genius. Even then, he's not our type. He's not a small, he's not a tall. He's not a running player, he's not a marking player. He's a tweener, that's why he's a failure.
