If he is going to make it, it will be as a defender

Or as a Leigh Brown type utility, who can play in defence, wing, forward and pitch hit in the ruck... Nothing wrong with the old fashioned utility.. However, I think most people would like him to be a 200 gamer in one possy...

Sorry, strongly disagree.

Miller adds some much needed experience and hardnest up front.

We are in the midst of competing for a top 8 spot. Not the time to blood players who need more time.

Sorry, but Post has made too many mistakes in all the games i've seen him play. Maybe later, not now.

Could not disagree with this any more and you obviously have not listened to Dimma talk about the club, where it is heading and the path we need to take there... AKA Miller is only a fill in and will not play ahead of youngsters if they deserve a game.

Keep him in for the next few games. Wasn't bad the other night, dropped a few marks he could've taken and missed a relatively easy set shot. Needs the experience and considering who we are playing in the next month i see no reason to drop him.

^^This.

I like the kid...

Anybody that looks like richo deserves at least 4 matches with the senior side to pick up on the pace and show what he's capable of...:thumbsu:...

I actually thought he was only 2 straight kicks away from a reasonably good game

But that is the problem - he is a poor kick (or at least he was on Saturday).

It's like saying Cleve Hughes was only 2 hard contests away from a reasonable game, or Jordan McMahon 2 tackles away from a good game.

We have to recognise players weaknesses and decide if we should try and fix them in the Seniors or the magoos - or if they can be fixed at all. I know we want to develop our young players. I reckon if we play finals it will have the best influence on our young players. At this stage, we should be aiming for finals. That means we play the best players we have for winning games. That means Miller.

Post is a good kick. You should know that by now

Wrong, wrong, wrong. We are aiming for a premiership... it won't be this year. Develop the team for the premiership. Dimma has stated he wants to get 500 odd games into our 22 and unders within 2 or 3 years. We should not deviate from that now just to try and scrape into the 8. Our kids are the way, keep playing them unless they are in that bad a form, that you can't. Give Post another few weeks.

Stop the Post love mate. FACT is he wasnt a good kick on the weekend when it mattered.

IF he had kicked better on the weekend then there'd be a bit of love for him goin around. He wont be dropped and he'll get another gig at it. When he becomes CONSISTENLY good feel free to rub the love in.

martin kicked a couple of bad ones too. So he must be a crap kick then

give him another game just because there isnt really anyone else to bring in, i havent got the slightest bit of confidence in him but we are playing port so even if he has minimal impact we should still be ok.

I hope i am wrong i can see alot of Cleve Hughes in post  haha but yeah if miller is over the flu he should be in.

I have some faith in Post...
Dunno about Miller coming straight back in for Post... Millers first game for the Tigers was not as good as Post's on Saturday IMO.

I'd expect them to Bring Miller straight back and I doubt he will be a swap for post.

With Grimes going out and us heading interstate against port, it's the perfect oppurtunity to see if Post can play as a swingman and move to CHB for maybe a couple of weeks.

If Griffiths get's back to full fitness and starts finding the ball in the reserves there's gonna be real pressure on key forward spots.

It's pretty clear that at Coburg they are playing our players where ever, if we ever thought post was a chance to play as CHB we may have to "develop" him at Senior level.

His value to the team depends entirely on how Griff goes this season. I don't know if we'll have all 3 of Jack, Griff and Posty in the one side, especially with Vickery too. CHB is an interesting thought. I wonder where he feels he plays his best footy...

The way i see it we need post to do a share of the ruck so carnt play him as chb so it has to b millers spot hes taking there is no room for miller and post in the same side while browne is our ruck ,vickory and post need to share the ruck load<miller is a useless second ruck>and too slow for our backline .so by bringing miller in the place of a runner would b stupidity .If miller does replace post that would mean vickory has to do a lot more rucking and at this stage he far more important forward .

Fair enough, we are seeing the return of Midfielders resting in pockets like the days of old, I wonder if we will see the return of tall key position players taking the ruck contests in their area of the ground and Ruckmen taking their "rest" sitting further up the ground at the next marking contest.

Riewoldt + Vickery have done this but it would be good to see it more often
