Find a way to get some Levis 520s. I stockpiled a heap in Europe. They're something else.

Trying to find jeans or chinos that fit well when you have big calves is an absolute nightmare. Skinny fit are too tight around the calf and make the taper look terrible and looser fit end up looking like some kind of early 2000s baggy throwbacks.

In all seriousness, Riders by Lee are great chinos.

For dark blues, still can't go past Levi's 501s. For light blues and black, Levi's 504s every time. Readily available in all sizes at Just Jeans. Usually buy a new pair of each colour every year, just to keep them looking new and accomodate for the occassional fluctuations in waistline too ;)

Have you tried RM Williams Linesman jeans?

I have thighs that are out of proportion with my waist and calves. Same sort of issues. No skinny jeans ever fit.

I tend to go for the Jeanswest straight leg.

I have a similar issue (legs and arse like a racehorse, but with decent sized calves too, on a 6'4" frame), but as mentioned above, Levi's are pretty reliable. The 504s are a bit more fitted (not a 'skinny leg' though), but the classic 501s are still one of the better combos of relaxed fit and style around.

I honestly dont know how guys wear skinny leg jeans. I have skinny calves and even i find them too tight

I reckon if they sold skinny leg jeggings for men I probably still wouldn't be able to get them on. I've got a bit of the Pavlichs going on, except he's about 6 inches taller and good at football. Skinny leg jeans should be the domain of malnourished rockstars only.

I need some new jeans at the moment actually. I had a pair of Levis (503? 504? I dunno some number that sounded like a bus route) that were pretty good that I bought in Las Vegas for about $40 but they wore out. Not sure what I'll get next. Might have to go through the dread of going to a shop and trying pairs on. Ugh.

I've got really big thighs from my turnip farming, Yorkshireman genes. I didn't hugely struggle with jeans (some people just can't wear them), but they were either a bit too tight all over or the bottom was far too loose. Honestly – 520s are amazing. They're called a taper fit, but they're basically just skinny fit for big thighs. You can probably get them online. Bought two and wish I bought about six pairs instead and stocked up for a few years.

De Jour on Sydney Rd, you won't regret it...
Like $60 a pair right? I've heard heaps of people raving about them, but then my girlfriend got a pair and they didn't seem anything special. In fact, they seemed a bit amateur with some areas just sitting really weird. Then again, girls and guys jeans are completely different things.

$52 a pair I'm pretty sure. You choose the colour, style and size and then they measure you up and custom fit them to your legs. You can get them adjusted as many times as you want so they're perfect and choose how skinny you want them etc. I've got a pair of jeans and cords from De Jour and absolutely love them. It's always super busy though, it's not uncommon to have to wait in a line outside the shop before being served.

How long is the turnaround before picking your pair up?

It says an awful lot about BF that I had to find an 8-year bump to find a thread about jeans/fashion!

I've been losing a shit ton of weight this year, I'm very close to being into "normal person" sized jeans again. I've shrunk out of my previous expensive pair, it's time to replace them.

I want to celebrate the weight loss with something super luxe and comfortable - but having always been fat, I've never had the luxury of wondering about name brands. And every result on google has a different answer.

What's a real nice, relaxed fit jean? And is there a good one designed and manufactured in Australia?

I've recently done the same, bought one shit pair from Kmart and a Just Jeans pair. The Just Jeans ones are long in the crotch and skinny in the calves, need a pair that ****ing fits.

Since the weight loss I have no idea how to buy clothes. I bought some work shirts that seemed to fit but the arms are too short, this has never been a problem in my life.

Good problem to have of course but it's a pain in the arse all the same!
