Yes and the umpires are all over him about it. It feels like every 50/50 when he gets the slightest touch he is throwing his arms about and stopping running.

It might have hurt him in some instances too. A couple of obvious frees would have generally gone his way on Thursday but I wouldn't be surprised if the umps instinctively thought "Just Jed over selling it."

Yeah every man and his dog was criticising Jed about playing for free kicks a year or so ago.

Doesn't bother me too much because with Jed because it rarely comes at the expense of going in hard (unlike say... Angus Monfries or Alan Didak).

And if the umpiring is as deplorable as it was in the first half on Thursday, I can't really blame Jed for making it obvious to the idiots with the whistle.

Vice Captain Jed Adcock suffered a minor groin complaint during the week that will see him sidelined for this match.

Round 8 vs GWS Giants

Toby Greene has been charged with engaging in rough conduct Brisbane Lions defender Jed Adcock during the last quarter of the Giants' big loss at the Gabba on Sunday.

Question: Why does Jed Adcock always seem to be the one getting into fights on the field?

I think he gets a few whacks every now and then, so it’s all about sticking up for yourself and your mates. Jed’s one of the best at it which is why you see a bit of push and shove.

Round 10 vs West Coast

Jed Adcock (28 disposals) and Tom Rockliff with 27 in his 50th game were the most prolific ball-winners for the home team.

Dayne Zorko took a mark running back with the flight of the ball into the oncoming Darren Glass, while Adcock's five first quarter tackles - highlighted by a full body slam on Nic Naitanui - were team-lifting.

A few weeks ago, Daniel Merrett's five goals in a quarter dominated headlines. Jed Adcock's first quarter effort of five tackles is unlikely to be as heralded but it was just as effective in setting up the Lions' early lead over the League's front-runners. Adcock's haul included a pile driver on Nic Naitanui and, backed up by teammate Tom Rockliff's five hard-ball gets, was a sure sign of the intent the Lions brought to the contest.

Only had about 4 contested touches. I though with Black out it would've been a good opportunity to get him in and under in the middle.

Adcock's last quarter was a major factor in us winning today. He really stood up and worked hard through the middle of the ground, busting through tackles with many telling possessions under pressure to keep the ball moving forward.

Let's hope that this is a return to the form that Adcock's is capable of producing.

He looked to me like he took over from Drummond as the loose man back. He seemed to always be guarding space and not playing on any one player down back. He used this to his advantage and pushed himself forward up the ground and got involved, tackling well and racking up some easy touches.

Adcock is the worry for the Lions. They again have salary cap worries this year, but they will finally ease next year when Brendan Fevola's payout falls off their wage bill. But it is known Adcock is interested in premiership success and as a restricted free agent he has the chance to get it elsewhere. Can you imagine how many clubs would want a player like Adcock, capable of slotting into a star midfield or even pushing to half-back in a quality side? Watch this space on Adcock.

August 20, 2012
Andrew Hamilton

JED Adcock is poised to sign a new contract which will make him a Lion for life and put him squarely in the frame to captain the club when Jonathan Brown hangs up his boots.

Brisbane will announce, possibly as early as tomorrow, that the 26-year-old vice-captain has signed a new three-year deal.

Adcock has played 139 AFL games since his debut in 2004 and is one of the club's most respected and professional players.
