Draft Profile Jed Lamb

Although they have different strengths and weaknesses, Lamb sort of reminds me of Heyne a bit.

Both kicked plenty of goals for Gippy playing in a 'taller' position than what their build suggests.

Both HFF/FP types at AFL level, both have plenty of tricks etc.

Both highly rated during the Nationals due to playing a few good games for Vic Country to go with their dominant TAC cup form, but like Nick, I expect Jed to possibly slip to the 30/40 mark.

Just an observation.

He's not 'that' small.

He's less of a marking type than Fyfe or LeCras

He's kicked a couple of bags of 5 or so recently. I was impressed when I saw him in action.
I'd like to see more negative stuff, but I always like that from a forward.
While taking big marks isn't his bread and butter (like Fyffe, for example, who likes nothing better), Lamb can certainly do it. He also has the size that a guy like Fyffe lacks. Lamb is taller and has a better build: Fyffe can slip through locked doors he is so thin.

The Jed Lamb i've played with the last few years has exceptional defensive pressure. Always manages to get a hand in or do something effective when the ball is on the way out.

No exaggeration he did. know him played against him good kid can play. use to get some of the under 15's boy to stand behind goals and get the footys for him.

Clever forward with clean hands overhead and at ground level, very good awareness. Super smart goalkicker in all situations kicking 34 goals this year for Power and Vic Country at the Under-18 Championships.

Lamb is well known at TAC Cup level for his flamboyantly coloured boots, but having kicked 80 goals for the Power over the past two seasons it wasn’t just his footwear that caught the eye in Canberra.

“Obviously I wear pretty bright boots so everyone’s watching me, but it was great to kick well out there,” Lamb said.

Lloyd said Lamb’s performance reinforced the validity of the test developed by Buckley and run for the first time last year in very tricky, windy conditions.

“Jed is dynamic around goals and [the test] just confirms who the best kicks are,” Lloyd said.

“At 97 per cent, that’s elite kicking, which is such a crucial part of the game now and he’s nailed it.”

All five clubs asked him about his boots. Lamb said he bought them because there wasn’t much else in the boot store in Yarram, his home town in Gippsland. “I just tried to be myself,” Lamb said.

No chance in hell this kid falls to 25 the lowest he will fall will be 16 to Port Adelaide but I see the Gold Coast take him at 13

I think he's the type that Gold Coast can afford to take a risk on and take earlier than other clubs would because they have so many picks.

I don't think that would be extraordinary at all. You can raffle off basically picks 10-25.

Depends if we take him with 17. I think that's what it will really come down to, whether or not you get him.
