If he's available and if he's better than other options we already have then we'd be silly not to look at him.

Our biggest weakness is key defenders so we need someone to play there whether it's a player we already have or otherwise.

You got Shanahan, Waterman, A Read, now also CDT. I am curious, who would Walter replace in 2027? IMO, A Read, CDT can't be a full time ruck for min 2-3 years.

IMO, both are not even close to be a full ruck right now. They are still kids. It would destroyed them.

Yeah, seems like he’d be walking into a similar situation to what he’s in now if he headed West with a logjam of talent pushing for a spot.

Makes much more sense to head down to a Collingwood/St Kilda if the interest is true.

Reid would be a 4th year player next year and is already pretty huge..

He's rucked a fair bit in the WAFL and rucked quite a lot last year.

CDT's currently a huge unit already and would be fine against a lesser opponent. Wouldn't want him lining up against an opposition's main ruck.

I think eventually CDT could take main ruck but short term, Archer will be more developed to take on that role IMO.

Our depth quality improves over those 2 years.

Not all will remain fully fit and available.

Eagles will turn over 2 or 3. talls over that period as well.

Also wonder if Walter would make a decent chb.

Quality tall for likely unders, whats not to like.

So he compliments the talls for 2 seasons, adds depth, may be trialed in defense if Shanahan is the better forward, and then Reid and CDT share the ruck 2 years from now when we start to contend.

If Walter moved, it would be because of frustration at not being picked or being forced to play out of his preferred position.

Would seem odd to me to move clubs and face the same problems.

Most only think he is gettable because he is playing in the VFL and you think he wants to go play in the WAFL and wait his turn lol. Or play CHB hahahaha
