After listening to him, he is completely right. We need to make changes and we need to make then soon..both to coaching staff and as a board. The quicker we make the changes the more time we have to have everyone work together before 2014. I would rather hit the ground running in 2014 not waste another year trying to get everything organised and everyone working together.
 
I live in East Melbourne and so by default I have a soft spot for the Dees. You could say they are my second side. Now let me say this...

Your last premiership was in 1964 the year I was born. Your club is going nowhere and is just above a second year side. You need someone to turn the club upside down. Kennett has a history of success. He is the man you need and will bring in a team that will restore your club. If he gets takes the credit then live with it and enjoy the fact that your club is better for it.

Carlton had to undergo a revolution since the Elliott years. We are still working on getting our club back to the top, but at least we have restored our pride. You need to restore your pride.
 
With out backs to the wall we need to do to something unorthodox.

It doesn't matter if he doesn't bleed for the club, Jeff Kennett will not let the club die or go backwards under him as he himself wants success which we will benefit from.

Good luck to him, but he wasn't strong enough'. That includes our enemies. Yet here is Garry, demanding that everybody know that Don and co. put a heap of money into the club. The last minute of the second stream is sad: He's shouting down Barrett whose just delivering his info - before Barrett turned around and finally said 'it's not me saying these things Garry, don't direct your bullshit at me'. Had the potential to get quite nasty before JB flicked on the ads.

I was listening to him speak via the link provided, and it does sound promising. He delivers some enticing points. I'm still a little uneasy about it though. Something doesn't seem right about it. But if it does happen, I can only hope he does as he says. I will support the Melbourne Football Club and all the decisions they decide to make. I trust the club itself to make the right choice. And if Jeff ends up to be that decision, then so be it.

(I do like the fact he said he wouldn't do this for Collingwood or Footscray etc. That earned him a +1 in my book. lol)

Very true, wanting the job is vitally important for when you are reformer you will face stiff opposition so it is very important to come to the job wanting it but surely Melbourne would within its ranks have someone that has passion.

That isn't to say that Jeff can't be recruited to the board or some other role but will he be a convincing president considering we know he barracks for a rival club.

8. Jeff bashers. Am warming to the idea of Kennett taking over at Melbourne and certainly warming to his enthusiasm. Melbourne fans need to listen - did you hear him at the weekend? Because right now no-one else is talking about rescuing the club. For what it's worth, there's another man out there who is looking at putting his hand up. For what it's worth I actually agree with him on this. Anyone that is willing to come in and work hard at turning our club around deserves the opportunity to be considered at the very least.

Robbo has suggested that Christopher Kalaher of IOOF has emerged as a potential chairman.
 
Consider this , its 2015 , and as unlikely as it seems ,Melbourne play Hawthorn in the Grand final . Who do you think Kennett will be barracking for ? How would you feel if the President of Melbourne turned up in a Hawk coat at that game , i would be highly conflicted . Happy that we had turned it around but sickened that our pres was going for another team. With Jackson (Bombers) and Kennett(hawks) in the board room ,does this mean every board meeting will be a "line in the sand" confrontation. :cool:
Sorry guys ,i have some faith in Jackson but Kennett can piss of back to Glenferrie .

He'd do something to grab attention like wear half a red and blue blazer sewn to half a brown and gold one.

He would also have some phrase ready like "I'm just happy the two teams I love are at the top of the ladder where they belong"

Anyway as much as I don't want kennet if we were playing in a gf (against anyone) I would be very happy with how the club was progressing.

no doubt about his feelings on jeff . Having the Afl involved is a bit like borrowing from the bank and having the manager follow you around everywhere .
 
Not at all impressed with Freeman's interview. Especially when he said there could well be someone out there who could do the job better than him. I hope he's right because I want our next president to be someone who's confident that he's the best man for the job and who has a fanatical desire to do the job and make the club great again.
