Jenkins vs Tippett

Yeah, he runs hard, but I question how good Jenkins can be without other good forwards demanding defensive attention around him. Tippett has his limitations as a forward (probably the opposite, in that he needs to be the main focal point to succeed), but he's shown he can play as a first ruck, which Jenkins hasn't done. Then again, Jenkins is two years younger, and is more athletic, and two years ago, nobody though Tippett could be a #1 ruckman, but rather just a forward/back-up ruck, so things can change.

Or nobody thought Tippett wanted to play ruck - as per what he said when he was with us.

Pretty hard to compare them though given the role Tippett is currently playing. Tippett is far better in the ruck, a better contested mark and gives a lot more with his second efforts.

Jenkins reads the play better, is quicker and has turned himself into a decent shot on goal although I think Tippett has also improved infront of goals for the most part as well.


Really couldn't have asked for much more in terms of a Tippett replacement in something we already had on our list.
