To a degree that's true but it has also showcased the talent of lesserlights such as Adriana Serra Zanetti, Daniela Hantuchova, Elena Dementieva and Rita Grande. Watching many of the games, even though a lot were straight sets, you can physically see how the gap has closed and the top players can no longer cruise through matches. There are a whole new breed of power hitters in women's tennis and they all know how to rally and not rely on their serves or quick one two serve volleys. I used to agree with that the men had to work harder for their victories and while the mens draw has become less predictable, the women's has definitely become more competitive on a point by point basis.

When you think about it, until recently you were almost guaranteed of having a Sampras or an Agassi win the grand slam titles. I for one will just as easily watch the women as I will the men. Though this years Australian Open has been outstanding on both sides.

Did Jennifer train with Mark Mercuri? Ooh, might have to rethink this now! ;)
