The defence race will be mega.Defense, I believe. I'm in the process of uploading videos. Will be a competition for spots next season that's for sure.
He’s my big big big break out player.Murphy moves like he's stalking prey on the Savannah.

I think Keene at chb could be one of the back ups this yearThe defence race will be mega.
Seven defenders in the 22, give or take, meaning 6 plus the interchange.
I‘d venture the newest draftees won’t head the queue yet; like Quaynor, will be pushing their cause but have to earn it.
And assuming Langdon is a late starter (injured currently and assuming won’t be ready straight up), Greenwood we know is not ready, Dunn same, so you’d be looking at something like this:
B. M Scharenberg ~ J Roughead ~ B Maynard
HB. J Crisp ~ D Moore ~ J Howe
I. N Murphy
Next Cabs:
B. F Appelby ~ J Madgen ~ J Noble
HB. I Quaynor ~ T Ruscoe ~ T Bianco
injured: L Dunn, T Langdon, L Greenwood
NB W Kelly could play key back as recruited for that purpose.
lots of competition.
Though it should be said of the 7 defenders, 5 look set and have their spots locked up:
Moore, Roughead, Crisp, Howe and Maynard.
Who's the guy who looks like Beams only without the tatt's?
Good choice, I am still leaning towards Josh Daicos. He’s my big big big break out player.
fingers crossed, injury free, big preseason, and he’ll be establishing himself.
I think it's either Quaynor or MurphyThe defence race will be mega.

Noble's not a viable replacement for Langdon, Sharenberg is, Murphy at a stretch.Howe Roughead Langdon
Maynard Moore Crisp
Quaynor
With Murphy and Noble fighting for next spot, if Langdon isn’t ready, cue the rotation.
It’s actually such a strong defence, the main concern is Langmuir not being there his impact can’t be understated.
Mark Keane would surely fancy his chances ahead of Ruscoe...The defence race will be mega.

I think I’ve just left the Irish out a bit too much.Mark Keane would surely fancy his chances ahead of Ruscoe...

The point about Longmuir is my biggest concern for next season.
No Longmuir didn’t get a possesion.Don’t remember Longmuir touching the ball much last season, so won’t be missed!

We came within a kick of winning the flag with a backline consisting entirely of second and third raters under his watch. We were top 3 in points against and I'm sure the system he had in place played a big part just like the old Weagles web back when he was coaching there.
I find it interesting that people are posting best defensive groups with Langdon in them in this particular thread? You really don’t need to read back that far to see he’s unfortunately isn’t progressing. IQ is also on training restrictions so as a second year player he’s unlikely to be in the frame early season. Unless injury hits lock Noble and Murphy in.
We are at week 3 of preseason training. Not sure you should be writing off either player for round 1. They may simply on light duties until Xmas.

Are you joking? I can’t be sure. The fittest players always get the nod for round 1.
Langdon is on the stationary bike once or twice a week while his competition in Murphy is out there in match sim. No chance.
IQ has 3 games to his name and looked OK in those matches then lost his spot to Noble who was impressive and is currently in full training. He’s down the pecking order.
People need to apply at least some critical thinking rather than “oh it’s too early blah blah blah”![]()
I remember losing a third of our defenders and making the grand finalDon’t remember Longmuir touching the ball much last season, so won’t be missed!
