so it could be Kaden Schreiber. He is a player we were looking at.

Yes that could be who we have Training at our Club.

He is a Blond Kid and now you mention him it does look like him

Defense, I believe. I'm in the process of uploading videos. Will be a competition for spots next season that's for sure.
The defence race will be mega.

Seven defenders in the 22, give or take, meaning 6 plus the interchange.
I‘d venture the newest draftees won’t head the queue yet; like Quaynor, will be pushing their cause but have to earn it.

And assuming Langdon is a late starter (injured currently and assuming won’t be ready straight up), Greenwood we know is not ready, Dunn same, so you’d be looking at something like this:

B. M Scharenberg ~ J Roughead ~ B Maynard
HB. J Crisp ~ D Moore ~ J Howe
I. N Murphy

Next Cabs:

B. F Appelby ~ J Madgen ~ J Noble
HB. I Quaynor ~ T Ruscoe ~ T Bianco

injured: L Dunn, T Langdon, L Greenwood

NB W Kelly could play key back as recruited for that purpose.

lots of competition.

Though it should be said of the 7 defenders, 5 look set and have their spots locked up:
Moore, Roughead, Crisp, Howe and Maynard.

Murphy moves like he's stalking prey on the Savannah.
He’s my big big big break out player.

fingers crossed, injury free, big preseason, and he’ll be establishing himself.

I think Keene at chb could be one of the back ups this year

Who's the guy who looks like Beams only without the tatt's?
In one photo he has his cap in his hand.
Good question. Def some new players, has to be some vfl players training with us since the academy boys are accounted for.

I think it's either Quaynor or Murphy
And would have Keane before Madgen

Howe Roughead Langdon
Maynard Moore Crisp
Quaynor

With Murphy and Noble fighting for next spot, if Langdon isn’t ready, cue the rotation.

It’s actually such a strong defence, the main concern is Langmuir not being there his impact can’t be understated.

Noble's not a viable replacement for Langdon, Sharenberg is, Murphy at a stretch.
The point about Longmuir is my biggest concern for next season.

Mark Keane would surely fancy his chances ahead of Ruscoe...

I think I’ve just left the Irish out a bit too much.

Somehow I don’t think I
Consider Keane enough. Probably should a bit more.

Don’t remember Longmuir touching the ball much last season, so won’t be missed!

T Brown, Keane & Sier to be major players this year

No Longmuir didn’t get a possesion.

but he was (is) a good guy and very football smart.
besides against us, happy to see Freo really improve.

We were top 3 in points against and I'm sure the system he had in place played a big part just like the old Weagles web back when he was coaching there.

I find it interesting that people are posting best defensive groups with Langdon in them in this particular thread? You really don’t need to read back that far to see he’s unfortunately isn’t progressing. IQ is also on training restrictions so as a second year player he’s unlikely to be in the frame early season. Unless injury hits lock Noble and Murphy in.

We are at week 3 of preseason training. Not sure you should be writing off either player for round 1. They may simply on light duties until Xmas.

Are you joking? I can’t be sure. The fittest players always get the nod for round 1.

Langdon is on the stationary bike once or twice a week while his competition in Murphy is out there in match sim. No chance.

IQ has 3 games to his name and looked OK in those matches then lost his spot to Noble who was impressive and is currently in full training. He’s down the pecking order.

People need to apply at least some critical thinking rather than “oh it’s too early blah blah blah” 😂

Regardless of how he’s viewed internally, Tom Langdon, currently is behind in preparation.

No doubt, the coaching group would love him as auto selection into the side.

But not if he’s not completing enough training and under fit. He won’t be in contention till he’s fit.

On this, Scodog10 is spot on.

I’m not seeing him Round 1, something dramatic would have to happen.
Regardless he just needs to get his body right, then build up to match fitness.

(In a previous post, I mentioned our back starters, the 7 players and I noted, assume Langdon is injured.)

Are you joking? it is week 3. If they are in full training after Xmas it should be no impediment to them playing round 1. I love for Murphy to be part of the back 6/7 as I am a fan of his potential, but if Langdon and IQ are fit he is no automatic selection.
